Need advice on a new car...

So my friend, who is fortunate enough to be able to trade in his '98 prelude and get a new car, is in the market for an SUV. He's a 3rd year college student and for any support from the 'rents is requested to pick out an SUV, thus making his moving shit back and forth from home easier. Nothing used, and only SUV's. Kinda limited choices, I know....

-I guessed a Toyota Tacoma X Runner cause... why not. It's an awesome truck, but as stated, no pickups, cause, apparently, that's one too many for the household.

-My only suggestion to him is an Xterra. Can anyone throw some ideas over?

-I agree on the no used car part of his deal, but of course, these are his parents' terms for financial assistance.

-I'll assume the pricerange can go from about 20-25k or so, alil' under and alil' over can't hurt.
