Navigation Sytem Reviews

I am looking at buying a new SUV in the next 3 to 5 months and one option that my new car will definitely have is a navigation system. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a rating for navigation systems published anywhere, I checked JDPower and Edmunds and couldn't seem to find one. I am definitely going with a factory system, I don't like the look of the aftermarket ones, they just clutter things. The SUV's that I am looking at are: (yes I know that they are in all different classes yet each appeals to me for a different reason)

1. Touareg V8
2. Cayanne S
3. RX 400h
4. MDX
5. ML 500
6. XC 90 V8
7. LR3 HSE
8. X5 4.4i

I have a good deal of experience with both the Acura and Lexus systems, I like them both a lot. I have heard not so good things about the Touareg's system which I assume is the same that is in the Porsche. However I have heard that VW finally switched to a DVD based system and it improved greatly. If anyone has any input on any of the systems that would be greatly appreciated.

"...the only navigation system that worked worth a damn." - Car & Driver November 2003 (ref. Infiniti FX45)

vs.
Touareg
Cayenne
SRX

Disclaimer: But I imagine most navi systems have been upgraded since 2003.
