What I really want is a TL TypeS or an IS350, but too rare and expensive. And if I got an IS, it would have to be an AWD because of seldom snow.
But it's not an Acura...
IDK, I'd have to drive one first...
Still think I'd want a TSX, however...

It seems the TSX would be like a 1/2 way between the TL and my Optima. Really, I think F/E is the almost the same in both.
My Optima has 200hp so it actually has 5hp less than the TSX. It has a lot of low end torque, but feels grainy and rough up high. And no vtec.
I like the small footprint of the TSX, no matter how high I pushed the seat in my TL I couldn't see over the gauge cluster. I'd have to lean forward to see right in front of me.
I drove a TSX for 2 mins. right before I bought my TL, I also drove an Accord, all cars were 2006's, the TL may have been an 04, though... I drove them in a parking lot.
I actually liked the TSX most because of it's narrowness and excellent visibility. The breaks in the Accord were WAY too soft, but that car was beaten beyond shit... Worse than anything I've ever been in before... It looked like a dog chewed up the stitching everywhere, lol...
I ended up with the TL for two reasons, it looked cooler and I found a nice TL close to where I lived...
My concerns with getting another TL.
Trim damage
Dash cracks
Bluetooth failure (I use BT)
Higher maintenance
Pattern failures
Feels like a boat at lower speeds.
From my research, it appears TSX's have much fewer problems, no trim problems, like dash cracks or door panel trim coming loose.
It also appears they have fewer electrical problems.
I also didn't like the heavy doors, low entery/exit height of the TL. Rear cup holders sucked. AT wasn't responsive to downshift under part throttle.
I didn't care for the switchblade key either.
How much MPG different would you say a TSX is? Well, how much better than my 2007 RDX would it be, since I still have that.

Right now in the city with winter tires I'm getting 22mpg in the TSX. Haven't driven the Type S but it was couple MPG lower last time I checked. TSX is made in Japan and I can definitely feel the difference in quality. Everything is rock solid (knock on wood). If you have a turbo RDX whats the point of keeping the optima?
The RDX replaced a Kia Sportage back in 2/2016 after an accident.
I share this with my mother.
The Optima is what I keep with me and I drive it when she is away at work. When we travel together, I drive the RDX.
I had a 2008 Camry abd hated the hell out of it. I could've gotten an 08 Accord but chose the Camry on impulse, didn't drive either for more than 1/2 mile each.
I was going through Accord/TSX/TL, love them all dearly! But I found a TL.
I was living with an elderly person in a barn and the TL didn't mesh too well with him. He has dementia and has excellent hearing so every tine I'd start that V6 TL he would run outside looking like someone was going to break in and kill him.
I got the Optima because it was quieter and other reasons stated above.
I no longer live there so I don't need the Optima anymore and need an Acura again.
The Optima lacks confidence in road feel... I'm like a drunk guy on the highway thanks to it's primitive EPS. F/E is negligible compared to a TL or TSX it seems.
Our RDX is a little heavy on gas in the city and at higher speeds, so I'm hoping a TL or TSX would be better.
The RDX averages 22.
So, that would be 15/22/28
Opitma gets about 16/22/28
TL got 15/20/33 (guessing)
What do you think?

I'm not in on the wax stuff... Best stuff I ever used was Quixx squirt tube wax and polish... Back in May of 2013, I did like 10 coats on the old Sportage... Talk about slick
What else was I supposed to gather... I don't read between the lines... I can't see in there...
You wannabe be back in dick mode? Who's, yours or mine?

I made a post but it glitched and never posted.
Traveled to D.C to see a show. From our home in NJ to the hotel is 241 miles. The day before the trip I got a synthetic oil change, tire pressures set and a bottle of Techron in the tank. We made it to D.C using a half a tank of gas. Made it about 10 miles short to home before I needed to fill up. We hit some horrific traffic going and coming but 70% of it was highway runs with cruise set to 68-70. Follow the ODO readings in the pictures. I did the math, I was averaging about 30 mpg the entire trip, regardless of what the digital reading says.

Wow! Thst is really good. Some people report great MPGs and others report below average.
So far, 50/50, I've gotten around 23 MPG, but only averaged about 16-18 MPG yesterday buring 1/4 of a tank in 76 miles!

I'm going to keep the Optima for a while, but after doing some research, I feel confident in perusing a clean cu2 someday. I feel that it will give me the most out of driving without sacrificing in the economy aspect!

Throttle moderation isn't a problem in a V6 because it has torque!
NO! I lied!
This 2.4 has more low end torque, but cries wolf after 3.5K rpm! TL started to get it on a 3.5K rpm!
I rerely exceed 3K rpm on average acceleration, but I don't play the few times a day I merge onto the interstate.

I like to let the car short-shift between 3-4K rpm when I want to go fast!
I've been going solo, no eco mode, and it's been a hoot! Better throttle response same F/E!
I've been flogging it today and I've gone 40 miles and have barely seen the gauge drop and I'm driving a little fast!

Stage 1 Audi S5
A lot of JL Wranglers had similar issues with the steering and the computer just needed to be re-flashed so that maybe the issue BUT your car isn't brand new so it very well could be an age thing.
Also, WTF did I just watch

It's not bad, really. I think it's just an EPS thing or a 2011 thing. I hear the 11-13 steering sucks anyways, 14+ is a much better bet, from what I hear!
Which one did you watch, anyways?

Something isn't right with your setup. I believe KIA has the ability to reflash the system. My biggest issue with the system is, while driving on the highway and not touching the wheel, the steering feels "Locked" as you have to put a little effort to turn the wheel and for the system to kick in. Remember a while back, you were raving about owning a vehicle with electric power steering and I warned you that in the Optima, the system is not for my liking and probably not yours either. It's hard going from a hydraulic system to electric. You are not connected to the road, period. One of my biggest things about the Optima which I hate. Needless to say, the dealership claimed my setup to be normal. Also keep in mind, my wife's car has 58K as yours has 3x more than that. So you may have something else going on.

I can't even remember you warning me of steering issues before but I'm sure it didn't make it into my mind.
The only way to know for sure is for us to switch cars for the day!
I watched a video of a 2013 Optima SX-L and I could tell by the reviewers hands that is was doing something similar to mine, and this was a brand new press vehicle.
I have driven a 2016 Camry SE, 2016 Elantra GT, 2016 Cheap Patriot, 2011 Nissan Rouge and a 2010 VW CC and they all had awesome steering feel from what I could tell!
I really just can't get over how unrefined the Optima feels compared to the RDX, I feel like no matter what I do, any Honda or Acura would be more nimble and smoother bone stock.
I don't think very much is wrong. I think I need a passenger strut mount because it pops sometimes when parked on an unlevel surface. Otherwise, everything is like new except bad doides causing lights not to work.
I wanted a 2012 Sorento but availability and resale wasn't in my favor plus MPGs aren't the best.
I've crunched the numbers and all I can come up with that fits my criteria for a suitable daily for me would be a 2009-14 TSX tech. Not too many reliability issues from what I hear. I've always wanted one since I started eyeing new cars seven years ago! I know it's EPS but Honda/Acura have precise steering, I don't care if it's light. That VW CC's steering was light but tight as could be! It felt light and direct! If the cu2 is similar then I'll be good with it! They're getting pretty cheap so if I could find a clean 2009 or 10 tech package with maybe 120K miles I may only nees to come up with only a few thousand to make the switch, so I'm thinking. Once I have income, I'll save as much as I can to get back into an Acura ASAP! Can't do it right now because the budget is not in car-buying mode and I have no where to register ir to anyways!
I may change my mind again but this seems to be a good fit, IMO!
I really loved that CC though! Other than the DCT being harsh from a stop it drove like brand new, even at 170K miles!
