My turn to Rant. Check this BULL$H!T OUT!!

mmmmmm....
Some of you guys has to understand that some state highway average speed is about 70-75. I see nothing wrong with what OP is doing there.
Some states, I can't see how you guys would think hitting 75-80 would be nuts... like Washington state.
I can't speak for every state, but in CA, hitting 70-75 is nothing.

70-85 is average freeway speed for cali. heck, i average 75 on rural back roads. some of you guys going 65 would get run over here.
i wouldn't have a problem with the gps tracking, but speed would be an issue. there's nothing you can do except change your driving habits and use cruise control more often. it is the company's car afterall.

Every time I get on I-5 here in Oregon, I see a Californian pulled over by the OSP. Somehow they manage to do at least 75 mph despite the numerous Priuses (Prii?) here that putt-putt along at 55 mph in the 'fast' lane

To the rest of the D-bags who had useless criticism, first of all..
The post was just a rant about a vehicle policy which I've never encountered.. The reason for this rant is based on a few reasons which I will repeat:
1: Being a sales rep for 13 years on the road, I have NEVER had any problems with my driving or in my personal time either. This is the first time in a company vehicle or any vehicle that I've been monitored so it is a little frustrating.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
2: 75mph in CT is more that not a slower speed on our interstates.
3: Realistically it is their vehicle and they do have the right to set the standards, but it is not right to tell someone that they cannot exceed 75mph or they will penalized for it, as that in itself could be a safety issue. As I also said before, and again this is my opinion; there should be no issue unless a rep or worker gives the company a reason to penalize them with either a speeding ticket or an accident due to excessive speed. Just because the company sets a speed cap at 75 mph does not guarantee that either of these things will not happen. Does it decrease the risk? That is debatable.
So yes, I will adhere the best I can and do my job. The job itself is great.
Again it was just a rant. So to all those who actually have such little to do in your lives except to type angry or crticizing responses to a post which caused you no harm.. I say I'm sorry. It must be pretty sad and pathetic being any of you.

They are probably also paying the insurance for the car and chances are that little device is saving money with the insurance company. Fact is if you are doing 85 and some idiot slams on his brakes you are more likely to crash into him than if you were going 70.
Say what you want dude, I don't think that you will get a lot of support on this one.

Wait, hold on a second....
They gave you a Hyundai Santa Fe to drive everyday, and you are complaining about being limited to 75 mph?
....
As for this,
You criticizing unintelligent comments and following up with this is hypocritical. How can you say it is not right? Can they tell you not to use drugs? If it is illegal and they don't want to be associated with it, then it is right for them to forbid it.
How could it possibly be a safety issue? What is the speed limit on CT highways? What is the sole purpose of a speed limit? I believe the answer is safety. The DOT has deemed it unsafe, whether to you or your surroundings, to drive any faster than the limit. The only unsafe thing about them setting a limit at 75 is that you can possibly go faster than what is deemed safe.

The only reason I can see why the OP is ranting is because....he likes to speed! And being limited to 75mph just pisses him off. Drive your own car then! and crash it if you like too! or find a new job! Geez!

The highest highway MPH sign i've seen said 75MPH, so I think the 75MPH limit is to comply with that.
Actually I might have seen one that said 80, not sure. Either way, 75MPH is adequate. If they are paying you by the hour, set it on cruise control and kill time

In fact I always notice they are the ones going faster than most people on the highways. I guess they think since they are saving gas they can go faster, ltl do they know that the mpg goes down drastically for them at fast speeds.
But yea, just this past weekend I was driving up to riverside around 8:30, its like a 25mile highway drive from my home to college. I decided to go 70mph. I got passed up by every single car on the fwy lol, except the guy I was following.
I drive 75-80 all the time, call me lucky but I've had cops pass me when I'm going 75 and never been pulled over. Granted I wont go past them if they are going below that and I come up from behind.

Before you say set the cruise control or drive in the slow lane, yes there are times where this will be the case. But anyone who has been on the road for years knows that you can't always do that. As I said, I will adhere to the company rules.

I was kind of with him with the sentiment that 75 may be a little low (I think 80 would be more fair, especially for interstate driving)... but with that last reply, he pretty much lost any support he was going to get.
It's a company car. If company policy is to drive 55 mph in the right lane with your hazards on, then you either do it or suffer the consequences. Doesn't matter what you think or feel is right. It's their property and their business and they can implement whatever they feel is right for them. Don't like it? Quit. But don't expect much support when you come online crying about a policy you don't like when you're employed, given a company car, and do not have to pay insurance or fuel for it.
Fixed...
