Is my Speed Limiter Inop?
Is my Speed Limiter Inop?
The last time I went faster than 130 was 2 summers ago, racing a corvette stingray on 95 nb. My car's spedometer passed the 135 line, licking the red-line. The Corvette blasted me, but it was fun.
When racing down I-95 Southbound my Speedometer needle passed the 130 marking.
-My speedometer may have been misrepresenting my actual speed
-My car did not stop accelerating and did not slow itself down at any point during this drive. It continued to accelerate until I left off the gas at 5.6k RPMs in 5th gear at the Redline.
Multiple sources indicate my vehicle should have a 124mph speed limiter.
-Many people claim they've circumvented this limit in their vehicles through physical modification
-Many people claim circumventing the limiter is impossible
I have, in fact, been slowed down by a speed limiter at 110mph on several occasions.
-It's possible my speed limiter may be inop or intermittently inop.
Any actual intelligent response is appreciated.
