My "non Acura" - LOL
Hi everyone,
As you know, I am a HUGE Acura guy and since 2006, I have bought nothing but Acuras (as far as my toys and g/f) but this year is the first time I have bought another brand. I MUCH prefer the exterior look of the TLX with the bodykit (in white) but some concerns about tranny glitches and my preference for the Lexus interior, I bought the IS350 FSport back in April. I have a chance to wash it today (as with the ILX which is a year old) and thought I would share some pics:

Nice!
Congrats on the new pick up. Looks gorgeous! I cant say I like the rear end of this Lexus. Always felt it looked like they grabbed the tail light in MS Paint and just pulled on it for a new design. LOL
But OMG that front end. Interior looks pretty clean. Love the analog clock!!

^^ Thanks. It is hard to find a vehicle these days that is perfect from every angle...On my 4G, I wasn't a big fan of the rear but loved the front. This one, I have some angles I love and others that I am so-so as you said.
In the end, I got the IS as I love the feel of the cockpit as I am pretty slim and the car just coddles me perfectly and at night, the interior is pretty sharp.
Thanks for the feedback and I expect some harsh comments on the Lexus so I am prepared *LMAO*

Great choice! I looked at these before I picked up my q50 but infiniti was more willing to negotiate. After driving several Acuras myself, it was refreshing to get into something different...and i'm sure you feel the same.
Good luck with it!

If the IS or RC offered a MT, they would be on my wish list, but right now, Accord or Genesis coupes seem to be the only contenders. Not a huge fan of the grill or tail lights, but I like everything else Lexus is doing these days.

looks nice... I test drove an IS when i was car shopping for my TL and i felt like it was a little cramped... In fairness I was going from a coupe to a 'family' car as my first kid was on the way and I was thinking car seat space and strollers and all the other BS you have to take to leave your house going anywhere... I did like the IS alot more than the C class benz.. now that was a really underwhelming car.

First and foremost...thanks for all the messages everyone. I am aware this is an Acura forum which is why I felt the need to post the ILX too I don't expect people to all like the IS as we all things we like and dislike about car designs. I chose the IS because for me, at the time of the lease, it was the one that had more + than the -.
Funny you say that as we bought 2 TSX, 1 TL, 1 RDX and 1 ILX (since 2006/2007) and while it was always exciting to get a new car, in many ways, it felt much of the same, just slightly different....This car feels TOTALLY different and the excitement of the new car is more palpable.
I agree that the size is not huge, in fact, it is almost the same of an ILX so it feels snug. As you may already know, being a very slim/slender guy, that is one of the biggest appeal of the IS....It fits just like a glove based on my type. I LOVE these seats!!
It makes sense, if I had to bring any kids and all their stuff in the IS, it would get old very quick! It is tight but I like it like that
Me too...the V6 is adequately powered for what I need it for and when in sport+ mode, the 'resonator' that pipes more sound in the cabin sounds great.

^^ Thanks...I must say that I am quite enjoying this vehicle as I am getting more and more comfortable behind the wheel and opening it up a bit more with each passing 'non rainy' days....

It's a very fun car to drive I heard. I've seen a lot of IS350 F-sports at the track. They do well considering it's a midsized sports sedan.
Any plan on modding?

Nice.. So you own an ILX and an IS350 now? Why keep the ILX?

Nope...I usually keep my car as stock as possible with the exception of OEM accessories like bodykit when available.
The ILX is the g/f's...I had a TL (2012) that I brought back to the dealer as a lease buy back and was waiting all winter to get a replacement...I was hoping to get a TLX but with all the initial tranny glitches, I went a different for the time being. I am delighted to have either vehicle to drive....both are very fun but in many different ways

Congrats! I actually like the rear/side of the Lexus, the tail lights look sharp and aggressive. I'm kinda mixed on the front, for some reason the color matched headlight looks odd to me.
Enjoy the new car!

Not in the new car market anytime soon, but the IS would definitely be on my list to look at.

You mean, it's no Chevette LOL! I have to say I love the avi. I had 13 of those wonderful beaters. Bought most of them from AT&T for $3-$400 when they retired them from service, looked exactly like the one you have pictured. Best part was, they went forever and for the most part I was able to sell them and make a little money lol. Sorry for getting of subject but you don't see too many of them anymore.
The IS is beautiful. Right color. Congrats!

^^ *LMAO* It is great to see someone that also appreciates the virtue of a Chevette! I am not sure how I manage to date girls when I was in my teens driving a two-tone Beige and Orange chevette - Man I must have had some charm to offset that car

Hice weather. My GF has a Starfire IS 2011 Convertible and I like it's clean lines. At first I was a little unsure about the new IS, but it has really grown on me. Best of luck with her
