Evil, in the last 3 days I have managed to put 300 miles on it, up to today most of the riding has been below 85 mph. Tonight I got into some good corners out in the middle of know where and found a really good 14 mile stretch that i took easy on the 1st pass, but on the second pass I stepped it up keeping it @ about 60 in the corners and 100 in the straight. I just broke in the bike tonight @ 1000 miles so i started to take it past 8k rpms, which is where this bike really shines, the engine uses all of the valves and wakes up, reminds me of v-tech lol. @ 100 the wind is not too bad, I'm 6'1 and probaby 240 ish as of right now. I don't plan on spending too much time @ 150 mph, but I can believe that the wind is pretty bad w/ the stock wind screen, im sure an aftermarket one will help out tremendously though. The power is awesome, and rolls on very nice and has good acceleration up till 8k, and then it takes off, I have also riden a 2003 R1 which was nice but kinda heavy and didn't handle as well, and a 2001 F4i which just didn't fell right.

on this 28 mile stretch (14 each way) I only saw 3 cars, no one travels these roads, they cut through cow fields and stuff
and this may be my first bike but I've been riding motorcross for about 2 years seriously now and have a good idea how to handle a bike

I think my next bike will be 1000cc (probably R1 but not sure) and i'm gonna keep my SV for daily riding.

a Duc or Aprilia would be fine as well.

Nice bike, unfortunately you will never see the full capabilities of any streetbike on the street.... bring it to the track and I'm sure our lightly-modded SV's will own any inline-4, as they have a record of doing so....

I just completed the Keith Code 2 day superbike school. They use the Kawi 636's for their 'training'. First I've ever ridden a modern I4 bike. I really missed the low and midrange pull of my Ducati. But it was a very nice bike. Great handling. If you've not taken a class on sport riding you should. I'm 49 and whish I would have done this at least 20 years ago. What a blast, and I learned a ton. Actually, 40 years of bad habits to break in some cases.
And ditto the fact you won't ever touch the bikes capabilities on the road. It can scar the shit out of you on a track where you can really heal it over in a corner. Roads just aren't predictable enough to safely do that kind of thing. I know after 2 days there were absolutely no chicken strips on my tires.
Have fun.

yea i was thinking of doing the star school or one of the others.. shit even most of the racers in thew ama (pros) never get the full potential out of a bike. rossi and nicy hayden would be the 2 that i would see as being ables to handle a bike in any condtionOriginally Posted by lrutt

The Keith Code school has about the best rep that I could see of all of them. It was very very good IMO. So well worth the money. He's been doing this for like 20 years now. Has it down pretty good. They move you right through the day. They provided breakfast and lunch, plus all gear and the bike. You can bring your own bike and gear if you want. They can price it either way. They give you a full day too, starts at like 8:00 and you are busy all the way to 5:00. I was going to take the course at Barber but it was booked so picked Vegas so the Wife would have some fun on the trip.
I plan on doing the level 3 and taking my son with me for the level 1. Level 1 and 2 should be mandatory for all riders. Just makes you a better rider all around.

dude racing on the street on your bike is not really flame worthy. While it is true a bike hitting a car at 180 is gonna do some damage to the car, you will learn your lesson better
I personally wouldnt want to take a bike that fast at night when you can see racoons and shit, then again, I prolly will in the future when I have a bike.

Beautiful bike!
My bro and I are getting into bikes. He's looking for a zx6r but in blue. I just picked up an 02 cbr f4i. Absolutely love it!
Everyone should own a bike and enjoy it as much as I do.

Awesome bike, I know you will enjoy it. There is something really fun about beating a 600(ish) cc bike like a red headed step child.
