My new tow rig

So I dumped my Navigator a few months ago and picked up this hog. I liked the Navigator, but it had over 185k on it and it needed some work which I really didn't feel like putting into a truck that wasn't really worth anything. So I traded it in on this, a 2005 GMC Yukon Denali. Only had 22,600 miles on it when I bought it. Its got a 6.0L LQ9 engine and AWD. It came with every option except the bigger wheels. Its got navi, satellite, sunroof, heated rear seats, and rear dvd. So far I'm happy with the truck, just wish gas prices would go down some

But it's not a 5.3. Only 5.3s are cool.

Nice pickup, though! Looks great in white.

What do you tow? Boats?

Yeah, the mileage sucks, but I commute mostly through the streets which kills my mileage. Thankfully I don't drive that far to work, so its not a big deal. Even at 12 mpg I'm only filling up every 2-3 weeks.

Still have the M5. Not parting with that car for a long time. Just threw on some new Pilot Super Sports. After 15k miles the rear tires were toast and the shoulders on the front tires were wiped from autocrossing. I gotta say, I really like the new Super Sports.

A boat and a car. A 24ft Sea Ray Sundeck. Boat weighs 4600 lbs dry (add in a few hundred pounds for crap that stays on the boat and any residual fuel and water) and the trailer weighs in around 1000 lbs. Also going to use it to tow a LeMons car I'm building.

An intake + a hypertech programmer should free up some mileage for you.

And for towing, i believe you can adjust the shift points

I'm good. Living in Bucks County. Still have the TL (176K and still running great).
Hopefully will have a new vehicle very soon.

Those look best in white. If you aren't driving that far, mileage doesn't really matter.

^ Regardless of how far you drive, 2x better mileage = 1/2 cost of gas.

I like PA. Good place to raise a family. I'm working outside Philly so I drive about 150 miles a day for work. I am trying to see if a TL can handle all that.

Neil,

I will probably pass your mileage on your TL in 2 years. I'm at 86K now on my 08.

I have no doubt. Keep min mind though, my 12 yr old TL spent the first 5 years of it's life as a garage queen. I think I might have had 50K on it at 5 yrs old.
