My new ride...
Well, here it is... 03 Honda Accord Coupe V6 6MT, 34k miles, navigation, Honda certified, one owner with all paper work.
I finally decided it was time to relinquish the glass tranny and get something a little more reliable. I was so on edge this past weekend. My girl and I went to Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, AZ. It is a 25 mile drive up the mountain and my CL was struggling with the automatic. It was doing some really weird down shifting and holding gears longer than usual when cruising back down. Anyway, it pretty much made me decide to start looking for a manual tranny. I had test drove a CL-S 6 speed that day and liked it a lot, but the condition was not so good. Tons of dings, dents, scrapes and stains on the interior. Unfortunately it was the only CL-S 6 speed with in 200 miles of where I live, so I broadened my search and came across this Accord on Autotrader.com.
After 4 1/2 hours and lots of back and forth wheeling and dealing, we finally got to a number I was comfortable with and made it happen. I'm loving it so far. My only plan for modifications is either an AEM V2 or Injen CAI. Other than that I'm going to keep it stock for a while. I'm still getting used to driving a red car since it's my first, but I've always liked the red/parchment combo.
But most of all it feels so good being back in a manual car.

@ the Write me a ticket red comment! But otherwise, very nice car indeed. Looks pretty clean. For the acceleration with the CL,I think you will find the Accord to be much more faster and peppier.Good move and how's the gearbox?I would rather have any good honda MT over the one in the bmw

Thanks for all the comments guys!
LOL, arrest me red, yeah, lets hope that doesn't happen. I did think about that though when I was "testing" out the highway speed last night.
Kyle: Meow, it's sad that I won't be able to whore all the good info on here for the 'cord, but I guess we all have to move on at some point. They gave me $10,500 for my CL and it had 89,5XX miles on the odometer and a cracked front bumper from getting backed into a few weeks back. Of course all the mods I had didn't help either.
Ron: The acceleration seems right on par with the CL-S6 and my auto w/mods from what I can tell. It drives completely different though. It seems to have more low end torque but no big VTEC kick in a 5000 RPM like the CL, so it has a more broad power band and pulls all the way to redline . From what I've read Honda under-rated the power on the J30A4, so they nearly equal a CL-S whp when dyno'd.

Very Nice... I almosted waited till the AV6 6mt came out in 2003, but bought my CL 6spd in Oct '02 instead... That's the color I would have gotten too...
Don't worry about the "arrest me red"... I drive 80mph on the highway with my SMR CL, and haven't gotten a ticket in the past 5 years (knock on wood).

Thanks for the reassurance, GM. I was actually thinking about you when I bought it because I told myself I would keep it as stock as possible. Just an intake eventually, oh, and maybe those all weather floor mats! But yeah, I'm not too worried about the red, I don't typically drive like a maniac anymore. Plus now that I'm back to a stock looking vehicle, I'm sure I'll get less people trying to entice me to race.
The navi is really nice, but it's totally foreign to me right now. The sales guy showed me the basic voice commands and how to navigate through it, but still, the only time I've spent playing with it has been while driving, so it's been minimal, especially now that I have to get used to driving with both hands again!

^ Good to hear. The only issue I'm having right now is the A/C won't blow cold air. Taking it to a closer Honda dealership to have it checked out tonight. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

Looks very clean - I like!
Ignore Greenie's comments, it's been statistically proven that red cars get more speeding tickets. Invest in a good radar detector and trust your spidey sense.

Okay, I speak from personal experience having previously owned two Preludes:
2nd gen red = four speeding violations.
4th gen dark blue = one speeding ticket.

Not an apples to apples comparision...
We (2G CLer's) already know why he got an 03 Accord 6mt vs. an 03 CLS 6spd which is probably a closer comparison...

Congrats, man!! Nice choice, I'm not so sure I would've chosen the red, but in the used car market, sometimes you have to compromise color for features. Either way, it looks great!! Good luck and have fun with it!!

Well, the car is at the Honda dealership right now. For some reason the A/C was blowing, but not cold air, and that's something you can't live without in Arizona. They gave me an 03 Accord Sedan to drive. 4 cylinder. Oh well. I did get a chance to get on the gas a little yesterday before handing it back over to the dealership though and I was definitely impressed and it had no problem breaking the tires loose through the first two gears. It would've been interesting to see how it did against my modded auto CL-S. I think it would've been dead even to tell you the truth. I guess a trip to the track is in order in the future.

Ha ha, just read through the thread of how you guys came up with the CL-S6 production numbers. I think I'll just forget I asked! That is nuts what it took to get those numbers. Oh well.

The CLS 6spd production numbers came from Acura... Mr. Slimey sent an nice letter to H/A asking about the prod. numbers, and got a polite answer saying "we don't give out proprietary info like that".
Someone here wrote a script to scrape the info off of the acuras owners link website... So that's how we know the details of the 6spd production numbers.
edit: just read your last post... nevermind

I'm sorry, but I wasn't going to pay over MRSP for an accord... (got my CL for $500 over invoice).

I did see on some other forum where they said dealerships were only getting four 6mt Coupes a year. Sure enough the sales guy told me with out even asking that they got maybe one 6mt every three months.
