Well, maybe my butt dyno wasn't working that day but honestly...the G37S put me back in my seat when I punched it. PS...it's a 2011.

The G37 I test drove felt like it had a ton more power then my CLS did. I never drove a G35 so I can't compare that, but if the G37 wasn't so much $ I would have wound up with it.
Good for you. I am very serious considering a G37S 6MT for my next car.
If you can afford it it's a great car. But as I said $28K for used ones was just way over what I thought they are worth.

I'm coming from an 01 CL-P so it goes without saying that this thing is like a rocket compared to my old car. Its all that makes me happy

Yea wheels and such will probably come once the winter passes. Right now I'm just doing simple stuff like switching out all bulbs on the interior to LED and Tint. Thanks

Yup can't wait for snow this year for once. I investigated the grounding kit and now I may actually get it sooner than later. Its only $88 for the Black widow kit and guys on the foum are saying it only take 10 minutes to install but also makes a world of difference on how the tranny shifts while in D as well as some other reporting the radio works better. I dunno they both seem fine to me but its only $88 for a simple mod sooo....

Thanks. Again, i'm coming from an old 01 CL so in comparing the two, this car drives tight, corners like its on rails, and just sticks to the ground no matter what I do. The more I investigate the G35x, I am learning how it's AWD actually works and its pretty interesting. If I am at cruise speed and not accelerating or decelerating, it actually goes 100% RWD. If I turn or slow down or accelerate, it goes to AWD giving more or less power to the front and rear as it sees fit. Awesome system.

I drove my friend's auto G37S and wow...the torque in that thing is intense. Love it.
I see that the torque issue here is a bit touchy so I'll leave it alone But I'm plenty happy with the torque and how it takes off from a dead stop with a bit of whiplash to my neck when I get on it. Needle shoots up rather quick. I still can't get over it

Yeah so

Today i was looking under the dash for the OBDII connector so I could plug in my Bluetooth adapter and run Torque on my android phone. When I got under the dash I noticed a non OEM looking knob. I turned the knob and something started Chirping. I was like WTF?

Kept turning it on and off and it kept chirping. All of a sudden I get up and look around my steering wheel and 3 hidden LED's are lit up and blinking. I was like WTF.

More investigation led me to following a wire to the front grill where I found a front facing sensor. Put it all together and the chirping leads me to believe that the previous owner installed a hiddel radar detector! Awesome install cause I didnt even notice it. Clean and hidden!

Only problem now is trying to ID which system I have, there are no labels. Anyone know about these? are they good?

Getting a video up soon

Here is a quick video I just made

Seems to have two settings. One setting sets the LED to Amber. The other setting sets it to Green.

what a friggin bonus find! i wonder if it's a jammer, rather than detector...although if it wasn't a detector, why would they give you visible notification.

Ok so looked up more info

It is a detector with front and rear sensors in the bumper. The Radar Diffuser was an option and looks like I have them. The sensor in the grille i have in the video is in fact a laser diffuser. The actual radar detector is hidden in the bumper behind the plastic.

You can see pics about 5th post down here: http://mbworld.org/forums/mobile-ele...tor-pa-nj.html

I never said the G is a dog, it's actually pretty fast and I'm happy with it. To me, it's just a little lacking in low end torque. 0-60 in the low to mid 5's is pretty respectable IMO.

For anyone interested, I was bored and took some video of two of the cars toys

First up is the Headlight AFS system. When i turn right, they go right, when I turn left, they go left. In the video only the right one is moving because for some reason infiniti decided that when standing still the left one will not move. I have to be going above 16MPH for the left headlight to follow the curves and move with the turns. I'm sure its some sort of safety feature.

Sorry for the shaking camera, but I was trying my best to move the wheel with one hand and film with the other. PS I threw in a few flashes of the bi-xenon high beams just for the hell of it lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW0qgS9y5eY

Here is a quick grab of the back-up cam. Again sorry for the shaking.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ67XkxCHYk

So far haven't done much to her except give it a good wash and wax the other day. She is very shiny, one of the reason black is nice. The not nice reason is they show dirt very easily but oh well.

Next step is to LED her inside and out and install a shock sensor as well as a DRL module which are very easy mods. Maybe later i'll get a little more daring

EDIT: Sorry for the cheezy music but I had to put something, otherwise all you would hear was my phone ringing and other nonsense noises in the car lol.

Eh, the turning headlights are ok, but more gimmicky than anything IMO.

Maybe on a really dark rural road they can be good, but since I live in a big city, I haven't had a chance to really try them out anywhere very dark just yet.

Right now it's only good for when friends get in the car and they freak out when they notice my lights moving and I laugh

Nice looking car, that radar install looks awesome. Wish they were legal here!

Lots of nice toys on your G35, the active cruise control is a nice feature too (but sometimes gets annoying). My mom used to have exactly the same car, 07 G35x, black/black, nav/tech package. Now she's got an 09 G37x coupe. Both are very quick cars... and lots of fun in the snow.

Hy,

I have a 2009 G37X and the same issue with the paint on the cap of the sterring. If it's under warranty yet, make it change by infiniti. They are well aware if this problem

Yea it seems to be a great system (or at least for its time) I'm sure now a few years later there are better ones. I rarely even turn it on due to the fact I rarely speed, but nice to know its there in the event of a road trip

Its a nice pro install and actually found out that Infiniti installed it for the previous owner when the car was first purchased. Its listed in the Service History record which i got a copy of from my dealer.

No major mods planned in the near future besides possible tint after the holidays pass. I've done small stuff like add an OEM Shock sensor the the alarm and LED lights.

Once the winter passes, I'l probably look into wheels/drop, but living in NYC and hitting major potholes everyday, i'm still hesitant. The stock 17's with alot of rubber take the potholes pretty well right now with little to no worry of bending a rim.

Thanks Guys

The G35x doesn't come in manual, only the RWD Journey and Sport versions do. I wanted the AWD version so it's a tradeoff. Also, I live in NYC where I sit in lots of traffic during my daily commutes so I sort of prefer an Auto for my daily driver.
