My new Evolution IX GSR @ Xgames Rally near Bakersfield

Well I picked her up on 7/24/06 and I've put 1200 miles on her already. Amazing car, handles like no other. Its really a thrill to drive, I look forward to driving it every time I jump into the drivers seat.

Last wednesday my buddy was doing security for the Xgames Rally Event and he invited me as a spectator. I got passes into the pit (which no one was allowed to go into unless you worked for EXPN or one of the rally teams). Ill get pics up later when I have time. Heres some pics of my ride out there in the desert and some teasers of the rally cars.

Poor little guy heres my first kill in the EVO

Basically from what I was told there were like 8 timed stages. Between the stages the cars were allowed to return to pit, repair, refuel for 20 minutes, and then back out for the next timed stages. They also had 2 helicopters filming the cars as they raced around the desert.

Each car was sent 2 minutes apart ( because of dust ) and I heard that the lancer evo 4 flipped but continued to race early on in the stages and the mopar dodge srt4 flipped causing the race to be delayed in the late stages of the afternoon. The srt4 failed to finish.

You better have a friend with a 4x4 truck At the rally event the organizers had "sweep" trucks which would follow the racers after they had all taken off.

Thanks fellas

Im in the same position as you Scott. Should I take my wing off? My friend has an RS(the stripped down version w/o wing + aluminum roof) and his car looks pretty damn sleek. The car is invisible on the street. So what do you guys think? Wing or no wing?
