My M3 got burned by a Ford Lightning...WTF?!?!?!
How fast are those damn things? I couldn't catch up to it until third gear. Given the fact that my clutch needs to be replaced and the latest "best" G-tech run was 5.95 sec in 0-60, how fast are those mofos?
Are they stick shift? It chirped the second gear.

They only come as automatic trans.
But they're fast stock, that's for sure. I've seen them dip into the 13's without any mods. If you run into a Lightning with a pulley swap on its supercharger, you can forget it.

The Lightning is very strong off the line, due to its torque/traction/automatic tranny.
If you want to tangle with one in the future, try getting him from a roll.

Hee hee hee...(sorry, no offense, but I gotta giggle when a "truck" cleans an unsuspecting clock).
You went against one of the biggest "sleepers" on the planet. They are all automatics and they come standard with a 385hp Supercharged 5 litre V8, heavily beefed up drivetrain and low restriction exhaust. It takes very little work and you've easily got over 400hp going in a frame that doesn't weigh that much more than a standard sedan. I had the chance to drive a demo for a week and had no problem keeping pace with newer Vettes and SS/WS6 F-bodies.
Advice: Don't mess with them...they'll eat your lunch.

That SOB took my lunch, ate it, threw it up and then asked for more! I learned my lesson once! No more racing anything that says "SVT" on the back.

Just watch out for the Cobra and Lightning. Just as a side note: Those two vehicles run neck and neck with each other in a straight line. As far as handling, the Cobra will leave the Lightning in its dust.

That's one of the reasons I still want an SVT Mustang. Still has that "american car" stigma over it but it's a pretty awesome car.

I have a "de-modification" on my car. Bad clutch. Don't want to replace it, might as well pass on the "good" clutch to the next buyer.

People talk so much crap about Ford Products you guys amaze me!, but thanks for giving credit where credit is due! I have been racing Ford cars for over ten years now. When I bracket raced we always used automatic trans because of consistent times speeds. Just because it's a truck with an automatic trans doesn't mean it's slow. For the record, these guys with the Ford Lightings only have to change their pulley to a 9 psi pulley, add a PRO - M Mass air unit, and a custom computer chip to add another 90 - 100 torque/horsepower to the wheels. Call Ford what you want...i.e. found on road dead, or _uck over rebuilt Dodge, or whatever but it beat your BMW! BMW = Biggest Mechanical Waste(to be taken lightly). P.S. I leased a M3 at one time, so I know they handle awesome.

Those trucks are FAST! Nice too with some chrome wheels. I thought about getting one, but couldn't really see myself in a standard cab truck with a plain interior.

The newest Lightning has 380hp/450torque. I wouldn't fsck with it.

Back when I drove an F150 (99) I had the 5.4L in it, but normally aspirated. I was "messing around" with a Lightning in traffic on the interstate. At about 65mph, he punched it, it downshifted and BARKED and left me sitting!

This is funny. I happened upon a Lightning this weekend. I was alongside him at a stoplight and didn't pay much attention - it was a truck! We took off from the light and I wasn't really racing, just got on it a little - he must of heard the CAI and was curious. We were goin like 30mph he got alongside me and nailed it, chirped out, and even though this caught me by surprise and I wasn't even feeling him, he pulled away sooo fast and loud!!! I was sooo glad I didn't mess.
