Im still not quite sure why the Escalade is so trendy.

Because it makes people look like wannabe rap stars?

When I see the new ones, they ALWAYS catch my eye! The last generation had a shitty interior compared to the new one!

Buy a freakin Ody/Sienna/Quest instead of trying to prove to everyone that your johnson is bigger.

The interior of the previous gen Escalade was about the worst interior I had even seen period, given its price.

If you want to look buy a RR sport.

If you want an SUV with sport, buy a Cayenne Turbo S.

There's a caddy dealership across the street from my sub-division. Right now in my area, black and white are the most popular colors. They have over 10 Escalades sitting in front, all black. Looks kinda sweet.

I'd get an Escalade over an H2.

regarding reliability - lots of cars are unreliable but that doesn't stop people from buying them - just look at Mercedes and BMW

They are exactly the same. Same engine, drivetrain. Interial panels and exterior panels are the only thing different. Are you blind?! It's been a known fact for years the Tahoe is the Escalade.

I would definitely take the Tahoe or GMC over the Escalade.
07 Tahoe

07 Yukon

07 Escalade

The new Tahoe is definitely sick!

I've never been an Escalade fan. I would have much rather had a Z71 Tahoe.

I've never understood the mentality that goes with these SUV's. Its like people have to compensate for lack of personality or penis size by driving these showboats.

escalade=suv=whale, just buy a limo and put a lift kit on it and call it a day.

Different strokes, for different folks, just hard to understand the need for a vehicle nearing the size of a locomotive.
and last but not least nick, go ask your girlfriend to slap some sense into you!!

My sister has an older Denali. She has 3 baby seats in it. I think thats a good justification. Otherwise, no, there's not much reason to drive a vehicle like this.

Right, but thats using the vehicle for its intended utilitarian purpose. I'm talking about the thugs who drive around on 30 inch dinner platters.

Dude, it's part of the fashion. Like, do you say to Picasso, "No brush?"...Exactly.

So, a giant SUV that's tinted, thudding/droning with extra bass, and with phat-yo-spinners are a must.

i'm sorry, but I find it funny all you guys are bitching about buying an "70K stupid SUV". You guys should all be driving tercels. In your theory sports cars aren't "proper" because you'll most likely never max it out and be able to drive it to it's full potential. A $70K sedan is stupid when you could buy a $20K one, etc, etc.

DriveTrain is the same, engine is different. But I wouldn't pay 30k+ for just a engine upgrade.

Get the GMC Denali for that matter for a lot less and it comes with a 6.2L.

If I had the money for an Escalade I'd:

get a used Cayenne Turbo
a Range Rover
a BMW X5 4.8is
a Lexus LX470
a Mercedes G500
a Tahoe Z71 fully loaded, and save alot of money.

Apparantly you don't know much......

Tahoe = 320hp 5.3L V8 (optional) - 4spd automatic

Escalade = 403 hp 6.2L Vortec V8 - 6spd automatic

Resale value blows on the Denali, much worse than the Escalade. If you lease the point is moot.

And the 07 Yukon is the ugliest of the 3.

I think you'd feel a little more secure - safety-wise - in a big-ass truck, compared to a sedan. Not to mention more room = more convenience.

all these things being said, I have to admit I think the Escalade looks really nice.

Much better than the Tahoe and Yukon.

Umm obviously you do not.

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2007/gmc/.../standard.html

6 spd in the GMC Denali is the last one I was talking about.

Hmm your worried about the resale value on a Denali, but when you pull the numbers the Escalade actually drops worse for some reason. Both have a terrible resale value.

GMC DENALI 2006

Good
$33,030
(Selected)

Caddy Escalade

Good
$37,790
(Selected)

Wow how can that be? The Escalade had a worse resale value. Ouch!
