My F10 BMW 535i xDrive needed a new valve cover gasket...

So I went ahead a upgraded the car entirely! Picked up a G01 Phytonic Blue BMW X3 M40i with Cognac Vernasca Leather. For an SUV, this thing MOVES! And helps me deal with Chicago potholes.

Excellent color combo.
Have seen a few of these around here, & it's a sharp looking truck.

Congrats!

The color combo is amazing looking. Love a good darker blue with brown interior. Don't understand why more brands don't offer something like that.

Heh, the one and only. Needed some reflectors, spacers and red start/stop button.

Thanks everyone, loving it so far! Dreamed of this color combo for so long!

Great looking! I was just building one this morning on bmwusa.com Like the blue and choice of interior color. Pretty hard to justify the cost difference to go with the X3M when the motor trend article I read said yours gives up very little in speed times to that model anyways.

edit: "It's the money that's the real kicker here. If you're in a hurry and need to hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds, then I guess you need an X3 M or X4 M. If you can spare an extra second, an X3 M40i will do it in 4.8 seconds, starts at $55,645, and gets 20/27/34 mpg city/highway/combined. But hey, it's your 15 grand plus gas to spend." Motor Trend

Very true! This engine is highly underrated, people have dyno'ed the car and experienced 400ish HP and 400 ft-lb torque to the wheels so there's definitely much fun to experience in this SUV. I don't think the X3M is justified unless you're an absolute purist. The 15K difference isn't really justified for everyday use.

WOW man! congratulations! Beautiful. I was planning on buying one at the end of the year. My daily is the base model version, with a performance tune. Check out a few BMW forums. Most of them are really helpful. If you need coding done or looking for a reflash tune, contact codemycar

Coded the Alpina gauges to the instrument cluster as well as coded the ambient lighting to match. Looks wicked at night.

One of my neighbors has one of these. He took me for a ride and I can attest to the fact that IT IS QUICK. I was shock at its acceleration. I liked the interior as well, which is not something I say often about BMW.

Two weeks ago my wife and I picked up a fully loaded 19 X3 M40i in Phytonic blue / black Vernasca seats (cooled seats). It's incredible! How's yours treating you?

I'm loving mine a lot, everyday driving it is just plain fun. Kick it into Sport Plus and it's even more fun. It's a good balance of SUV and sportiness. My dad enjoyed riding in mine that he picked up a 2019 X3 M40i, black on black. My brother got X3 envy a few months later and just picked up a 2020 X3 M40i. Haha, so we have 3 of these things in the family now.
