I still love my Mazda3s sedan but even with the manual- i feel the gas mileage could be a bit better than the 26MPG i am averaging in city/hwy.

Damn dude, really? I got 30+ with my 3s 5dr.

Do you do a lot of sitting in traffic or are there a dead hookers in your trunk?

I think I spend too much time in second gear... hard for me to tell. Also, still only have 2,200 miles on the odo.

Okay. I bought mine used with 15k on it. I was averaging 31-32mpg. Would sometimes get 34 on the highway. I wasn't grinding it out in bumper-to-bumper though.
