The reason he missed a seat problem after researching 8 months for a G35 coupe is that there is NO SEAT PROBLEM. A handful of people are uncomfortable in the G35 coupe seats (and yes, the sedan seats are different from the coupe seats). You will get a handful of people that are uncomfortable from every manufacturer because people are all built a different way. Most people on the G35driver forums LOVE their coupe seats. Do a poll and you'll find this to be the case. I've been on the G35 forums for over a year and know the car very very well (I should know because I own one). Very few seat problems and if you don't believe me, go to the coupe section of the forums and do a search. I honestly think the seats in my coupe are one of the most comfortable seats I've ever been in.

You can tell you are a whiner. Aww you get hungry, awww people are mean to you, aww my back hurts. Oh guys hold me!

If you grew a pair then you wouldnt even have been in this whole mess. Plus if you did do 8month of research then you would have seen the seat related threads. Plus the posts about the seats were by users with 1 or 2 posts. I find that just odd.
Ouch!

Canadian of Russian acenstry (who has a problem with saying "NO") buys wrong car and losses $8K.

Moral of the story - insist on a long term (overnight) test drive.

here's my take on this; he was unhappy with the way he was treated and threatened Nissan and/or his dealer that he would 'tell the whole internet' about this MAJOR problem with the g35 and how he was done wrong. so he writes this huge essay and posts it all over the place (this is just a guess, i've only seen it here so far). so anyway, my point is, it's propaganda and he wants us to just swallow it blindly so he can point his dealer/nissan to our 'outraged' responses to his threads in hopes of getting some recourse.

this backfired because this isn't a support group, we're car enthusiasts, and many people here have closely followed the g35 since it's inception...so we know when we're being fed a line of horse shit...i mean if he came here bitching about tire feathering on a 350z, i think most of use would agree there is a problem...

anyway, thread malfunction *98983853572

Read it almost in its entirety. Nothing to say here because you already know what you did wrong. You actually note the mistakes one by one. Plus you wrote that this was your first new car purchase so there is a little justification there.

What I do with salesmen is this. I have a natural tendency to push back the more they push. No salesman has ever sold me anything I did not want/need. At least as far as I know.

Truth be told though, the way this Infiniti dealer operates wont last for long, because they wont last for long on the job. Infiniti is for real, they will get rid of asses like these if they are to go against Lexus and others. I hear of a lot of similar complaints from buyers in Europe about MB dealers during the past few years.

Anyway, this back issue is very interesting. I wonder what the hell is wrong with you. Not reaching the back rest is no issue though. I dont reach it ever in my CL and have no issues. Same with the RX. But if other G owners report of it, it must be affecting people with certain back "configuration" to say it simply. I test drove the G twice, I never felt anything but you never know. If I sat in it for long periods of time, maybe something would have changed.

The only thought I had, during your despearation was to actually sell it and get something used. I mean you'd lose money but you'd at least get your back....back.

Thats exactly what I was thinking and what I did, I got my old car back and took the loss, money is recoverable, not health...

What did you find about your back? From the doc? I have this very intersting back problem which is intermittent. Chariopractor says he has no idea what could be causing it.

During the last 1-2 hours of sleep, I wake up with moderate pain in the middle of my spine, between 7th and 9th vertibrea (we took x-rays and there is a little bit of misallignment there but it's within normal spec according to him). It's not the mattress, cos it happened in other mattresses also (I travel on business some).

The funny thing is that it happens only during the last few hours of sleep though, or at least that's when I feel it. It started around Jan-Feb of this year, it became worse in the next couple of months and then it subsided in frequency and severity. Quite some.

The only position that relieves pain a lot is if I put two pillows under my head and lie stomach up, back down on the bed, flat. The worse is the opposite, stomach down with sides being almost as bad.

I get up and within seconds it goes away. I do 375 pound deadlifts and 350pound squats, no pain whatsoever, nothing is wrong during exercise. I dont get it but it sounded quite similar to your situation, only it happens when I sleep. And again, now, it happens one out of 4 days.

I hate g35s anyways Everyone and their nephew has one around here.

When i shop for a new car, I go there with the mentality that im just window shopping. I check out other dealerships, see what they can offer, come back the next day... test drive twice or 3 times if i have to Compare and contrast prices. See who gives me the best deal and thats who I purchase from... Even if its 50 miles away.

I once almost got bullied around into buyin a used 3.0 a4 quattro. I walked out of the dealership thinking what a nice car, but why are they so desperate to sell it to me? They kept asking me what I thought a reasonable price and i kept telling the guy that I realistically couldnt afford it.

When I got home, I had a several messages on my answering machine from the same salesman... Something about passing up a great deal on a car, and how someone else is interested in the car right now THey called every other day for about a week straight... Talk about persistence. ANd of course the audi was still on the lot everyday I drove by.

They wouldnt let me test drive the g35 coupe next door, I guess its because I walked in and they must have thought I couldnt afford a car.

Went over to dodge/subaru. Test drove an 04 WRX. Old man knew a ton about cars. He was explaining all sorts of safety features, h opposed engine, even the suspension. We went on a test drive he took us to a street where it was industrial and he let me push the car just a littebit

Even with the A/C on the wrx was faster than my TL. LOL.

Afterwards I told the guy im very impressed with the wrx but im still shopping around for cars, he handed me his card and told me he will be here tommorow, next month if need be. I left that dealership feeling good, they wanted 24k for an 04 wrx that never sold on the lot... If it werent for the new tribeca look... my next car would be a scooby.

This is not the point of my post but if you have to know, yes I do have health insurance but the way it's administered very differently then back in Canada...

In canada you go to the ER, wait 6 hours and they X-ray you, tell you whats wrong and fix it if they can... Then send you to your PCP for followup and refurals... You never here mention of money, never hear mention of co-pay or cost of anything... It's part of your taxes and is controled by the goverment

The US uses a very profit motivated system...

You go to the ER, they call your insurance and they ask you if you want to pay 800$ for a X-ray? I said "no, wheres my coverage?" They said they will cover it as long as it's prescribed by your PCP... So the ER fills your ass up with drugs to make you sleep and the next day, you call your PCP only to get an appointment in 3 days even if it's an emergency... In the mean time you get a bill (EXPRESS) at home that tell you the ER cost was 600$ plus 150$ for the drugs... your co-pay is 80$ for the ER and 20$ for the drugs....

Then you go to your PCP and he tells you that theres a process to follow, he gives you a cortizone shot "Free of charge" and asks you to come back in 2 days for another.... On your way out, they ask you for 15$ co-pay... 2 days later, he asks how you are doing and when you say not better... he gives you another shot and asks you to come back in 2 days again and they ask you for 15$ co-pay again... the third time after about a week of missing sleep and missing work because of a stupid back pain, you get refered to a back specialyst and they ask you for 15$ co-pay again...

So I call the specialyst and he has a week waithing list so I got fed up and found myself a Chariopractor and paid out of pocket... He charged me 100$ for X-rays (Wow great discount then from the ER) and sais I probly have a pinched nerve around a disk... I ask, probly? he said yes he assumes from what I described that thats what it is... So I say, what kind of testing you allow you to make an exact diagnostic? he sais an MRI... I say how much is that, he sais 1000$ so ke cracks me and charges me 50$ at that for 5 seconds (I'm in the wrong business )

So I go to the specialyst and ask him what to do, he sais, X-rays... I say, where in luck, I have some with me... from the Chariopractor, he sais from what I explain, It sounds like a pinched nerve or herniated disk... I say, what kind of testing you allow you to make an exact diagnostic? he sais an MRI... I say lets do it then He sais he has to follow a process to see if I'm getting better before the inssurance will cover this... Fills my ass up with drugs, prescribes pain killers and sends me home for a week, they ask you for 25$ co-pay... I'm like this must be a mistake, my co-pay is 15$, they say thats for your PCP, this is a specialyst, so 25$ please get the prescription thats not even covered because it's over the counter stuff 20$

If you absolutely whant to know, yes I have dam coverage, I pay 300$ every month and when I need it, end I end up paying 80+20+15+15+15+25+20 = 190$ and I have no answers and a bunch of drugs and a hole lot of days missed from work...

tdoes that answer your concerns ludachrisvt?

There best guess right now is a pinched nerve as result of somee kind of disk shift...

Unlike you, I sleep on my stomach with no pillow, when I'm on my back, I geel numness and dizziness....

during the night, my girlfriend says the top of my bidy wich is not under the covers is sweating profusely, like really wet as if i was playing a hockey game (and AC is blasting) and the lower part that is under a big bown cover is dry...

Docter sais it might be the nerve thats heats me up.... Also when I sit now, I feel allot of numness in my arms...

Wow, what a read.

Next time, just walk out of the dealership instead of talking back. Also, your back pains are not associated with the seats, you need to see a chiropracter/back-specialist. And wow, you got scammed big time.

INteresting. You're into lifting as well. Nice. You play hockey I remember from your post. Deadlifts and squats I am sure help a ton. I play volleyball. Indoor. Or at least trying to get into it again.

About the pinched nerve and disc issue: I bet that's what's up with me and I am very concerned, but at least it got a lot better lately. SO hopefully I am on an improvement path. The thing is though that I did not back down on my lifting mainly because I dont and did not feel anything during that time.

Good luck with everything and send me a PM about lifting, etc. Any plyometrics with your gym routine? PM me.

No, it is an open system with many choices. Don't like it you may have wanted to stay in Canada.

IMO, sounds like you get screwed quite a bit, by the dealer and by your insurance company. Your insurance should cover ER visits.

To each their own.

Every G35 loaner I had, had to be returned because it was uncomfortable. (Back when I had my i35 sport)

I sit in my buddies g35c and he's uncomfortable as well as am I.

My G35c seats were way more comfortable than my Maximas. Its also more comfortable than my buddies IS300 seats. Each back is different so its a moot point to argue that the discomfort is inherent in the seat design when a part of the population will always complain about seat discomfort.
