First Swedish Koenigsegg crashed

Included in the cost of every Koenigsegg CCX is the tuition for a high performance driving school. One owner decided to opt out of the school and subsequently wrecked his brand new CCX within 18 hours of taking delivery. The nephew of one of the owners of H&M (a store that sells high end clothing at economical rates) attempted to pass another vehicle, moved into the oncoming lane, lost control and spun, colliding with a garbage truck.
All told, no major injuries were sustained, but egos have been bruised indefinitely.
Thanks for the tip, Matt and Rocket Push!

what a shame.. that is such a beautiful and an amazing car too!
and add me to the agreement of how anyone could not want to go to high performance driving school. with a car like that i woudnt even want to start the engine without passing the course!

My uncle was supposed to give me his 2.3CL but decided to keep it
And who the hell would turn down free performance driving school?
I took a 3 day racing course, albeit for go karts at F1 Boston a few years ago. The instructor was a former Formula 1 Driver, and a lot of that I feel can be carried over to normal driving, or at least "playing safely" in terms of how to take turns and get on gas and brake.
I am also supposed to take that skid school thing for evasive driving.
The ways people get licences these days are horrific. I had to take take two left turns and a right for my test, and pull up alongside a curb.

I agree. While there is more to the test than there was 30 years ago, its still extremely limited in what it actually proves by way of driving ability. I do imagine it would be pretty hard to change the test though given the ever current DMV backlog and shortage of employees.

Not to turn this into a political discussion but with Srika's thread title. As a matter of fact, I think every class of vehicle (compact, large, SUV, etc,...) should require certain license qualifications.

There are a few holes in the story that people are making their own conclusions to, while they are the most likely conclusions, we don't really know if:
A) the uncle bought the car for himself, but his nephew took for a spin (literally) and crashed it.
B) it IS the nephews car, but he is independantly wealthy and bought it for himself. Yet throwing the name H&M into the story makes it more "sexy"... Just because the owner of H&M was mentioned in the story, doesn't mean he bought the car for him,
One thing is for sure...the CCX is my favorite car and that is one grusome scene.

Same goes for choppers. Learn to fly them before you buy them.
