More 350z tire wear info

Z tire wear repair
In response to continuing complaints of uneven front tire wear on 2003 350Z models (AW, Dec. 8, 2003), Nissan is extending all 2003 350Z front-wheel alignment warranties to two years after the car’s original in-service date. Depending on tire wear levels and mileage, Nissan may pay for new tires, reimburse owners who already have replaced their cars’ rubber, or pay owners a prorated portion of their costs. Nissan says improper alignment settings cause the excessive wear, but acknowledges that even cars serviced at its dealerships may continue to exhibit the problem due to improper service work or improperly calibrated alignment equipment.

But here’s bad news for 2004 350Z owners who have experienced what they believe are similar tire wear problems: Nissan does not believe the issue affects ’04 Zs and will not offer the extended warranty coverage to ’04 Z owners.

Nissan will notify owners of 2003 models of the warranty extension later this month. For more information contact Nissan at (800) 343-0294.

aha naw nothing like that. My sister is senior tax accountant for nissan north america.....i have like 2 dozen nissan shirts and wear them proudly. I just wanted to address the issue because people in the last thread started calling Z owners fags and pussies becaues they don't know negative camber will cause uneven tire wear etc.,

aha......don't post if you already know. This is a recent press release so :P Many CLS owners are purchasing and may not be a part of whatever board 350z owners goto.....it's good info. Previouse press releases only comment on the MY03....this one definitively says MY04 are not affected and will not be covered.

In case you would like to know why it does not apply for the 04 Z, the MY 04 350Z has a different suspension than the 03 Z, so the warranty extension naturally doesn't apply.

I can forsee some issues though. The 04 suspension is the European Z suspension which is slightly softer and less "bouncy", but the early 04 Z's still had the old suspension. I believe it was a month or two after the first 04 Z's came out that the new suspension was used. Definitely stinks to be those guys.

BTW, I have ~14k miles on my 03 Z and have no issues with tire wear.
