Missed out on Ebay deal of the century!!!

Dudes, I just missed out on the perfect set of winter wheels on Ebay. They were 2001 CL-P wheels that were "supposedly" taken off the car before it was sold. So they were essentially new. Earlier today, I emailed the seller asking for pics of all four wheels and asking them to disclose the reserve to me. The bidding was at $192.50 when I emailed the seller today. She emailed me back and said that the reserve was $250 plus $60 for nationwide shipping!!!!!!!!

I almost jumped out of my chair. But by the time I had received the email, the auction had ended, and wouldn't you know it; the winning bid was $250. Damn!!!!

I can't believe that I missed out on that great deal.
Was the buyer anyone from the forum???

Oh well, I'll find Acura wheels somewhere, if I keep my eyes open. I wanted to jump all over that price for new Acura wheels. If anybody reads this, has CL-P wheels in excellent condition, and wants to sell them , just pm me.

I have ASA's with Blizzaks right now. I'm gonna try to sell the wheels only and keep the Blizzaks for the CL-P wheels. Which Blizzaks do you have, and why not sell now? What year CL-P?

Never heard of anyone wanting to put the CL-P rims on a CL_S. There will always be more on ebay. Why do you want to go from a 17" rim to a 16" rim? Surely, I'm missing something.

Geesh. Where were you when I was trying to sell my 16" TL wheels with Blizzaks? You can buy TL rims all over the place. Prob the same with CL-P.

Yeah, power3dfx is right. It's my winter setup. I knew that I wanted a winter wheel setup for my CL-S, and knowing that there are a lot more and affordable choices for snow tires on a 16" wheel, I went with it. That's the only reason why I want 16's. I have the stock 17's wrapped in Kumho Supra 712's for summer, and I love that setup. I have loved the stock CL-S wheels since I picked up the car, and I see no reason to spend 2k on 18's......yet!!

You wouldn't want to swap winter wheels and tires with me plus cash, would you? My ASA's are in good shape and have Blizzak LM-22's on them with about 6K miles. I don't forsee having any trouble selling them once fall rolls 'round. Let me know if you are interested.

It may be a long shot, but I figured I'd try.

I've been keeping my eye on these TL wheels, but would actually prefer to have CL-P's. I just like the look of the CL wheels better than the TL wheels. I may call or email the buyer to try and find out the reserve; but would prefer CL-P wheels. Thanks, though.

YUP, it’s better to go with 16’s for a winter setup (like I use) for many reasons:

Better tire selection
CHEAPER tire selection
Narrower tires run better in snow/ice.
Softer ride & better grip because of more sidewall
Wheels less likely to get damaged on pothole strewn roads

So far my 16” Rims (from a 2000 TL) are holding up pretty well after four winter seasons.
Only ONE of them has a blemish from scraping a curb that was hidden under 20 plus inches of snow.

Dallison/bsprinker, maybe we can have a three-team trade here for wheels as I am looking for a set of 16s for the winter as well, now that I have 18s and the wife is getting my stock 17s. although I will keep an eye on those 16s (Thanks dallison)

That might work! What do you think, dallison? I could sell my ASA's with LM-22's to ferizzo, and buy dallison's CL-P's with WS-50's. If the wheels and tire quality is up to par, I'm game for that, pending negotiations.

If dallison's Acura wheels are in great shape, I am willing to pay some cash the wheels and newer Blizzaks over and above what I sell my ASA's and LM-22's for, but that amount is debatable. Let me know, guys. PM me with the details.
