Member Lippstuh was dishonest about sold wheels

If this thread belongs to some other subforum, can a moderator please move it. I didnt find a seller / buyer rating or dispute section.

Anyway...

I bought some Work Meister S1 wheels from member Lippstuh / Phillip Cun in September -09. I arranged pickup with a friend of mine who inspected the wheels on the topside but AFAIK didnt take the wheels out of the boxes.

I received the wheels after a while and noticed some hand written text on one of the front wheels. It turned out that that wheel has been bent at some point and fixed. The fixing isnt 100%, there was some wobbling visible on the lip when spinning it on the wheel mounting machine. Furthermore the clearcoating on the lip has been removed at the same time the wheel had been fixed.
Here's a quote from Phillips for sale add:

"I got these rims less than a month ago new. Spent lots of money, but something urgent came up so I need to sell. Was going to keep these for at least 6 months, oh well. you gotta do what you gotta do."

So, buying them new means that he knew that the front wheel has been fixed as it cannot have happened without him knowing about it. Or then he lied buying the wheels news. In anycase, I've been mislead when buying the wheels from him.

I paid $2400 for the wheels and I asked a measily $150 for my trouble and the Work Meister S1 sticker for the front wheel but he refused to give me any compensation.
The wheels conditions was advertised as 9.8/10 with the 0.2 coming from road debris etc. No Fixed or bent lips was ever mentioned.

Pictures of the wheel mentioned:

The last pic shows the sharp edge inside the wheel. It shows that the wheel has been on a lathe of some sort.

Here's his for sale add:
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/work-meister-s1-gloss-black-19-x-9-5-10-5-a-733961/

Also there was also two other wheels lips were bent that I had to get fixed, but as it might have happened during shipping, I will leave that issue alone. But I want the $150 and the sticker for the front wheel.

I'd like some comments about this from members. I dont think I'm being unreasonable about this.

I HATE threads like this because it's so hard to know the whole story. My first question is to you Krister, WHY WHY WHY WHY would you hand a stranger $2400 in cash and not take the wheels out and inspect them with a magnifying glass. they are not $500 cheap ass wheels. You could have saved yourself a lot of aggravation if you had taken the time to look more carefully.

i am also confused You say you arranged a "pickup" but then say you got them after a while, what does that mean? Were they shipped to you?

Have you contacted Lippstuh? Sucky situation man. good luck.

he had a friend come inspect them, then they were shipped. In your defense, you have to read between the lines to glean this information.

If he has a conscience he'll pay the $150 and give you the sticker, but with a cash sale and no contract you get what you get. The old saying "If you want it done right, do it yourself" comes into play here also as your friend did not do a good job inspecting them. Ask your friend if anything seem "funny" about him looking at the wheels. If Lippstuh let him inspect them with no issues, your friends partially at fault IMO.

I did notice that, I just didn't understand why he didn't take them with him when he went to look at them. Did he hand over the $2400 and said ok, now I will trust you to ship them to me? Just weird. That's a hell of a lot of cash to hand over without inspecting your merchandise thoroughly.
