Smile MDX or X5? an old TLer looking for opinions

I just moved to a new city for work for few yrs, and trying to get a used SUV.

Right now, I'm considering 2011-2012 2G MDX and 2011-2012 X5 35i.

1. For same price, X5 normally got higher milage than MDX

2. X5 costs more for services&parts than MDX

3. but X5 is faster and got better handling (maybe?) than a MDX (Correct me if i'm wrong on this)

Looking for you comments and maybe give me some more recommendations beside x5 and mdx, thanks in advance.
(my budget: $30000-$35000)

BTW, I sold my 3rd GEN WDP TL already..

i am going off of your list...

you have listed 2 pros for MDX and 1 con for BMW.
looks like you've already ruled out the BMW from your list.

Out out the 2 you listed, id get the MDX. Personally, I like the MDX. Its really the only vehicle in the modern Acura lineup I feel is worthy of purchacing over its competition.

BMW: because race car.

MDX: eww, who drives this?

Justnspace was just stating the obvious that it seems like you crossed out the BMW due to it having more negatives than the MDX. If maintenance is one of the reasons you have, get a Toyota 4Runner 4x4 with a factory TRD Supercharger. There you go, both issues solved. Toyota reliability and performance from a OEM Factory Option that many people consider not to buy but in reality, it's quite worth the money in my opinion. Plus the 4Runner's hold their value.

even if I was making $60k i still wouldnt even buy a BMW.
a used BMW at that....

Obviously, you're about value or else you wouldnt have picked up the TL.
Acura has great VALUE.
something which you value.

if I was making $80k, sure it would be a BMW, an M-series Bmw.
anyway, we're just a bunch of people on an acura board.

go test drive some vehicles!
