When is the next gen MDX expected to launch. We are looking into them but my mother would like a little more power and a better AWD system.

nope - MDX will be renewed, and the RDX will be the entry level SUV - think of it as:
MDX:Pilot = RDX:CRV

the new MDX comes out in 06 as an 07. If you haven't seen the redesign, it's nice! I'm trading in my 02 for the new one.
