Mazda 3 Mps Engine fell

Found this on the golf forum. Pretty funny to me. The engine fell and took out the driver side axel.

There are a few cases of this happening. One was a broken engine mount, the others seem to be just from the bolts loosening.

Been following this on the Mazda forums since the Speed3 came out. There have been a handful of cases so far.

It's just the Speed 3's that are having this problem. They have an unusual engine mount design that is causing the bolts to loosen. A little loctite on the bolts is all it takes to prevent it from happening. Mazda hasn't released a recall yet, but I imagine they will.

Well, maybe I should tell my cousin not to consider Mazda after this instance, but it just might be 1 isolated event.

I guess they used the same mount or bolt for regular 160hp Mazda 3 and 263hp Mazdaspeed 3. What do you expect? As always, never buy first year car from any car makers.

Fixed. Remember every car makers has problems with their first year car, I was surprised to learn new Civil had four recalls so far tie with new Sonata.
