Friesm can launch at 5500 because he is Colorado because of the high altitude. If u launch at that rpm and are in a lower altitude place you will wheel hop until you break an axle.

Go on craigslist and buy some used nitto nto5r or bfg g force kdw-ta for the track. By the largest sidewalk you can fit on a 17 and run the psi at 26 cold.

Launch around 3400-4000 and enjoy trig to get traction.

i also do that occasionally (but i try not to though, and when it happens, i will just replace it, and hopefully get Mark Williams Enterprises to make me a stronger one for the next time; btw they are local to me , basically right next door to Ingall's)

but the other thing i would say though is that the track i go to, does seem grippier then most other tracks, in that i can't full out spin my tires, but then again i am was doing it with 245's though, so wider then most other people out there)

I broke an axle last season with a launch at around 3500rpm. It was right after they sprayed that grip stuff down infront of the staging lights and I think I just hooked in real hard.
I would like to run a 16 in drag rim, but my brakes I have on the car make me run a 17. And I dont feel like swapping out the rotors every Friday I go to the track.

Do you know of any strong light weight wheels that are fairly affordable? I could always just run Rotas.

If i launched at 5500 rpm i would just sit there making one hell of a smoke show. I launch around 3k -3300 tops (depending on conditions) Any more and i just spin the tires. Its a balancing act that is hard to achieve (i did my time on 235/40/ 18s)

Thanks, it is much more fun to drive since putting the new motor and 6mt in. Not a day where I don't look forward to driving it, or look for an excuse to do so.
