Market adjustment?? I don't think so...

So I was at my local Acura dealer getting my TL serviced. I'm just "toying" with the idea of getting a MDX or RDX because of the increased need for more utility and space.

For a CPO 2009 MDX Tech loaner vehicle w/20,000+ miles that looks like it went through World War II, they wanted $42k.

For a new 2011 RDX Tech SH-AWD, they wanted $43k (which includes chip protect, paint protection, leather treatment, and a fricking market adjustment price of $2k).

$42k for a 20,000 beatup loaner MDX, I don't think so?? And dam, who in the right mind would pay $43k for a RDX with a velociraptor beak???

End rant...

Market adjustment, as in 2K over MSRP?

I think you may have accidentally traveled to a parallel universe where people pay over invoice for an Acura.

Yup.

I can understand paying MSRP for a 2011 model (since it's only Sep 2010). But over MSRP???? Nada. I rather wait for a CPO Q5 at that price.

reminds me of the camry. There are a couple dealers who sell 2-5 year old camry's for the same price as new ones.

LOL, no way. That dealer must be on some pretty good crack.

I got my 2011 RDX SH-AWD with Tech for $36k and change before TTL and that was their first shipment of 2011s. Deal should be done on Wednesday, finally!

Good to hear! Be sure to post some pics in the RDX section when you get a chance.

$36k IMHO is a fair reasonable price for a 2011 RDX SH-AWD Tech. Glad to there are sound minded Acura dealerships out there.

Sad thing is that some poor schmuck will buy the car thinking the added protection and BS is worth it.

For anyone who isn't skilled at haggling, try amex car buying program.

Maybe when a certain someone on this board is ready to move up from his TSX to an MDX, i'm sure he'll be more than happy to pay over market price...after all the depreciation is so low on acuras that they cost more used!
