Mandrel Exhaust in NY Metro area

can anyone recommend a good shop that can mandrel bend? I'm on Long Island but willing to go into Queens if I have to. Having a hard time finding someone who has the machine.

What size diameter are you going. There are not that many bends on your exhaust except for the Y. And unless the guy doing th crush bends really sucks, you will not loose enough exhaust diameter to notice a difference in power. maybe 1.5 horses max, with your application. If you were a turbo car then i would say only go with mandrel, just to maintain velocity, but for an all motor setup, properly bent crush bends are good enough for lots of power. Shit there are some F body guys making 500 horses on crush bent exhaust.

allot of shops here won't actually mandrill bend the pipes themselves but order the bends and weld them in.

Mabee thats just my small town stuff though, last I checked there wasn't a mandrel bender in tucson, and everybody went to pheonix to get it done.

^-shop i used to work at would order the parts if someone wanted to have mandrel pipes. its an expensive machine and unless you are a high, and i mean very very very high volume shop doing a lot of custom work, you arent going to need it and it wont justify the cost (anywhere from 15k on)

If you are doing just the axle back pipes, you wont loose much if anything.
