I'm not sure his head is up BMW/Audi's ass crack, I wouldn't envy someone who brought home an 02 RL either

i dont think its that bad. i dont really like the look of the G35.
kinda sucks more when i bought a 99TL, then a few years later, my mom gets the 03TL (which is same as mine, but updated and brand new)! then my dad gets the 05MDX and now that my sister got her license, my parents are buying her a freakin 06TSX. i started an acura trend for the family.. but still. i was happy when i bought the first acura, but now i have the most dated and oldest acura in the family.

Since you like the car, this is a good thing.
How do you think I feel? My stepdad just bought an '03 BMW M3 w/SMG tranny not long ago. And yes, I've drivin' it a few times. That car is so sick I'm happy for the guy. He works hard, so he deserves it.
EDIT: If you haven't already done it, I urge you to go out and drive one ASAP! The most fun I've ever had behind the wheel of a car.

Seriously, how is that Anti acura? They are great cars, but reality is they aren't performance orientated right now. The same reason that before you came to this board we saw a HUGE influx of guys ditch their CL's and TL's for G35's and 350Z's. They found the limit w/ a FWD car.
As I said, I will most likely always have an Acura in my family. But, until they step up to the plate, it'll be my wife driving it. I've had 4 friends come to me since January and asked me what car to get, I know each of them well and they just aren't the car performance people. So after giving them advice on what to get, 3 of them are in new TL's and another in a V6 accord. I guess i'm anti Acura though.

So FWD = not performance oriented? Cause the TL and TSX (save for its lack of power) are marketed as and IMO are pretty performance oriented.
Granted my definition of performance oriented is probly different from yours. And the level of performace we're talking about here probly also differs. But I'd suggest that a TL is just as performance oriented as a G35.

Not to mention, the selection of available mods. That was another big reason a lot of guys ditched CL's.
TSX is a fun little car, don't get me wrong (but it is an absolute dog). It's priced against some well performing cars that are way beyond it's league in performance but makes up for it w/ interior refinement, etc (dare I call it a chick car? )

No, it's a blast in a small light car and hence why my buddy and I still have a built CRX, but in a 3500+lb car? No. With that said, I do love the TL, and have had a good time in one of my buddies up in the canyons, but it definately has it's disadvantages with spirited driving, and the big one is FWD.

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting the TL was the equal of the G35 performance wise. Certainly not in at the limit handling anyway. I guess I'm just suggesting that if your not an enthusiast you could be very likely to buy a TL on it sporty looks alone over a G35. It has sporting intentions is the best way I can put it I think.
The TSX being a dog entirely depends on one's perspective. I can see how you would say that coming from more powerful cars. But for those that have come from other Honda/Acura 4 bangers like Integras, Civic's and Preludes (which is probly most TSX owners) its no dog at all.
EDIT: @ chick car comment.

Sure the TL has sporty intentions, hence why I still recommend it to people, it's a great car w/ a great motor. But if I was looking for a 4 door sedan w/ some grunt to do battle with it wouldn't be the TL.
And sure, if you come from one 4 banger to another the TSX is a cool car, but most people who are performance oriented upgrade, and the TSX most likely wouldn't be their first choice. If it is, does that make them wrong? Hell no, as mentioned, the TSX is a great car. I love them. Wouldn't own one as my driver though.

You have to spend some time in the TSX section A TSX with some mods becomes a formidable car against its competition. Moderator JTso is putting down somewhere in the neighbourhood of 220 NA WHP last I remember.

again, i'm not saying they can't be made quick, trust me, I completely know what the K-series motors are capable of, driven a few quick ones myself. But they ain't cheap to get 220 NA whp out of, and by the time you have it, you are looking at the price of some pretty capable more sporty cars.

Like scott, i always recommand Acuras to friends. You forget my buddy just bought a TSX and now posts here? I even said how well the tsx handles for being FWD but was lacking power. Fit and finish on the car is outstanding. Car isnt for me though due to FWD.. but there are MANY out there who that doesnt matter to. Like my father, he wanted a 530 when he was shopping for the RL. But i didnt like the idea of him driving RWD so I pushed the RL on him. Its perfect for what he needs it for and has been extremely reliable. I been in the RL section here and praised it a few times for being problem free. (hes on his 3rd RL)
ALso read some of my posts. I will be straight up honest about Audi and BMW. I have never said Audi is reliable when people ask. Im not going to lie to make the brand look better. Hell lately people ask what car to get at under 30k range. I been on a huge legacy GT kick after my buddy took me for a test drive in it. What a car!
So how much torque is JTso putting down?
