LT1 F body VS 96-97 Cobra

My buddy is in the market soon for one of either of these 2 cars was wondering if anyone had anything to chime in

so far he's leaning towards the Cobra just because its a little bit stronger

both cars will probably see full bolt on's/gears / a nitrous shot

just wanted to see opinions both cars will probably be within the 75-80K mileage range

he can get a 98 LS1 F body with that mileage for cheap. That gen mutang does not respond great to mods. The Cobra is rarer so it will be priced within the range of an LS1 equiped F bod.
Power wise, the LT1 is a strong iron block motor. It reponds well to mods and makes tons of torque. Bolt ons will make the lt1 a low 13 second car, maybe even high 12's. My buddy has an lt1 camaro with an LT4 hotcam and he runs high 11's with all the bolt ons. The 4.6 in the mustang is weak as hell. Shit, not to insult anyone, but 4 years after the f bodies were discontinued, Ford is still playing catchup in the power department. It took forced induction on the cobra to get what a bolt on ls1 would get all motor. The new mustang is still slower than the 4 year discontinued F bodies. So my vote is a used LS1 or if he is set on an LT1, then get the LT1.
