Who cares about sacrilege, it's Honda's fault for not offering the NSX with more power

Nice project and I agree with TommySalami, that is what NSX should have been.

I want to hear that beast, too. I do wish Honda made some engines with low-end torque and high power, yet good mileage.

I wonder what tranny that is.

Im on the fence with this one. I dont like the sound of Chevy V8s, but more power in an NSX is a great thing. I hope handling is only slightly worse though.

There are other routes I wouldve gone before even thinking about a motor swap in an NSX, let alone a LSx. Sweet project though...

can't imagine the logistics of hooking up the dry sump system, to name just one aspect. I gotta give props for such a massive undertaking - LS7 is an engineering marvel - and yes sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands nice to see an NSX at the power level it should have eventually hit.

And I think someone here said the car needs some suspension work...I think it's not bad as shown here:

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/album...&pictureid=713

And wow...350lb heavier after the swap??? What else did they do?

They were commenting on the wheel gap of a car with no engine. Of course it's going to look odd.

And is the LS7 a very heavy engine? I know the LS1 is real light, even lighter than some 4 cylinder motors it replaces

I'm pretty sure the added weight came from all the chassis modifications to contain the engine/added power.

Bet you didn't realize the LS motors have a different firing order than the old small blocks.

I'm not going to lie, I'm quite jealous of this guy and his talents.

I had a hard enough time swapping an H22 into my Prelude

What's with this new trend of everyone swappng motors?

And hey, if the guy has no need for the NSX engine, you know...I'm more than happy to use it to jump on the engine swap bandwagon...

My excuse?

I've always wanted 3rd gen Prelude.

Friend of mine had a '91 in excellent condition he didn't want. He gave it to me. For free..

But.. I have what I like to call the 'tasteful mod' problem. The engine was adequate but it was just begging for an improvement. I've swapped an H22, added significant amounts of sound deadening to the car and a nice stereo system. Oh and it still looks quite stock. Stock wheels even

If I had the money (and time, mostly time) to swap motors for the hell of it, I'd do it. My fiancee wants to restore an original Mini, I'm tempted to shove a Honda L series in there. She plans on doing a custom interior. It could be quite a show car

Thats what I was thinking...Plus you don't have to do all that chassis modification and throw the balance of the whole car off.

Meh... Ruined a perfectly good car... Should have gotten a Vette if he wanted a V8

I can see upgrading the engine in a civic or prelude with another H/A 4 banger, but I've never really excited about weird engine swaps...

It's like sticking a watercooled V8 in the back of an aircooled porsche... sacrilegious.

I'm impressed with the technical aspects of the swap, but think the time could have been better spent on something else....
