Looking to sell my 2003 CL-S, need advice....

Hey guys,

How ya been? Its been a while.

I am looking to sell my modded 03 CL-S. I have been told that selling a modified car on auto trader is not the best thing to do because people on are looking for stock cars on that site. Am I better off putting it up on ebay? Or just getting nailed on a trade in ?

What can I expect to get for my car with 81,000 miles, still in great condition in and out(zaino of course)

Thanks for the help in advance.

who are you again?

I think you're better off trying to sell it on craigslist (free ad), or taking a chance with ebay. I listed my CL-S listed on craigslist a couple weeks ago, only received two calls thus far, but I have a good feeling it will sell.

If you are in a hurry to sell, trade it. If you have time to sell, put it on craigslist.

There's also a new sub-forum to list members cars that are for sale, you can list there too.

Welcome back !!

If you sell the car with the mods, you're not going to see any increase in value from the mods...

You might find a buyer here that will think that the mods add value to the car, but your average autotrader buyer isn't going to want to pay more for mods.

I'd have to guess that the car is worth about 13K or so... I've got 71K miles on my stock 6spd, and last time I looked on kbb.com it was around that... and about 10K for trade in value.

Resale sucks if you're selling, but great if you're a buyer...

Might want to post over on the CL forum, since alot of those guys don't make it over here to cartalk:

I forget if you have 6spd or not, but if you do you can see some 6spd values here:

if you want to get the most money out of your car, then you should part out.

I traded my modded 03 CL-S in with 89k miles and in great condition (only a small scratch/chip in the front bumper from a parking lot incident) and got $10.5k for it. They told me if it didn't have the mods on it (AEM CAI, XS Power Headers, Tein H-Techs, Tokico Blues, 18" Flix Wasps, 225/45/18 Toyo Proxies) that they would've given me up to $11.5k for it, so the mods actually cost me $1k in my trade in situation. If you're in a rush to get rid of it I would suggest putting it back to stock and sell the mods. If I had to go back and do it all again that's what I would do.

sup holmes.

I traded mine in on my suby. I put it back to stock besides the cleared headlights and Zex plugs

they gave me 13.5K I believe. It had ~ 75K on it IIRC.

I don't want to deal with parting it out because I cant uninstall the parts myself. I guess I'll try craigslist, autotrader, then ebay.

C'mon now, the CAI, spacers and door sills are just way too easy. Is it worth your time to actually lose money on those when you can get money for them? Headers and exhaust are doable too but I guess if you really have no time and no mechanical skills whatsoever then fine. But you need to at least take out the easy stuff if you got the stockers laying around.
