Looking at 95 Integra LS; questions

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, admins: feel free to move to the most appropriate place.

I'm looking at buying a '95 Integra LS from a friend. He's taken great care of it. I do know it needs breaks. He's moving across the country and can't take it with him. I wanted to find out if anyone had any tips on things that commonly go wrong with that model. I appreciate any advice!

Thanks!

trailing arm bushing rot on those things. the parts are around $100 plus the cost of the tool, unless you can get a loaner. the dealer will charge $500 to replace them.

If the car has less than 150k on the clock and it has never been in for the emissions notice, they will do plugs/wires/oil change and emissions inspection/replacement of any malfunctioning emission equipment at no charge.

From what I remember, small things like the ABS sensors (usually needs cleaning and causes the ABS light on), leaking trunk (taillight seals and/or moonroof drain tube)..

Paint fading if it's red, and rear quarter panel rust (on any 90's Honda's)..

Green and black paint fade on these too.

i used to own a 97 LS. its a good car. has potential. long gears. pretty slow..... make sure no one has touched the motor. (a lot of kids throw on b18 bottom ends and whatnot) check the tranny. shift it from reverse to neutral to drive a few times around, make sure it doens't make weird noises or pull really hard or lag too long. trunk leaks sometimes if the rubber seal is bad. i know mine was and a couple friends.

I had a 95 Integra LS sedan. Great car, the thermostat went bad on it or something cause it always took a while to warm up.

I have a new, well relatively new thermostat now in my GS-R and it still takes a long time to warm-up.

if there is one part on the entire car you need to be careful about checking, it's the radiators. It's a very common part to fail on the integra. They are metal radiators but they have cheap plastic end caps that will break at some point. It failed on my last integra, and failed on my current one shortly after I purchased the car.

Also, check out team-integra.net. Wealth of information about the cars over there.

Had a '94 red Integra up until a year and half ago.

Things that weren't great with mine (of course could be different for others):
color was red and it faded badly... the hood was pretty much pink, got it repainted, and started turning pink again
Headlights always go foggy inside due to bad sealing
Transmission/gears shifted hard...sometimes you could even feel a big 'jolt' when shifting from P to D
Mine overheated a couple times, but once was my fault

But the inside was pretty much just fine, oh yea, except for the cup holders, they are pieces of useless shit lol.
