LEXUS going straight HIGH TECH?

http://www.clublexus.com/forums/show...5&pagenumber=3

refer to a post by GXS, about 3/4's down,

(1) Laser cruise control
(2) Rear parking camera -- image displayed on LCD/NAV screen
(3) Steer sensitive headlights
(4) 11-speaker Mark Levinson stereo
(5) Enhanced aerodynamics as RX330 will lower to ground after a certain speed (assume 50-60)
(6) Rear DVD

Wtf, lowering to the ground going higher speeds?!? reverse camera?!

Lexus will add more tech to differenciate better from Toyotas in future models. Except, unlike German tech, theirs will work.

i wouldn't say they are too much more high tech than a lot of other makes, this stuff is available on a lot of other cars.

I just think the difference is they are making it ALL or MOST available on their cars, unlike other cars where you have to sacrifice certain options because you chose a certain model or name (like acuras, where you pretty much get 1 or 2 options at most and they don't even offer most of the best stuff yet)

that's my stink with acura's, they don't offer a lot of this stuff. They seem to be at the top in engine-tech, but their creature comfort and safety techs almost always trails SEVERAL other companies.

anyone tried doing the reverse camera on their CL's?
I bet you can get the RGB1 deal or whatever it's called and have the source be a tiny camera hidden somewhere. The source stays the Navi unit unless the car is in Reverse, you could probably wire it so that when you hit reverse the video source changes to the camera?
ah just an idea.

U can do it. I know a guy in the ATL, very smart guy. He wired reverse into his NAV screen. The camera is IN THE KEYHOLE, incredible.

i love the idea of the vehicle lowering at highway speeds, thats great, lower the center-of-gravity, avoid roll overs. good idea.

that's funny. the TL doesn't have a keyhole....unless he put the reverse cam on the driver side door . So this smart guy built a keyhole, then he put a camera into it? Now that's a smart guy!

Speaking of L's, is there any more spy pics of the New GS430. I heard it looks like the new E-class.

I don't really think all of these are high tech at all. Laser cruise control....not really new tech. just new application. If u get too close to anther car it will slow or deactivate ur CControl...basically a feedback sensor.

Rear parking camera. Idea been out...it's an option for the INSPIRE (japan ver. of TL). It's just a matter of cost vs. benefit. Not everyone would like to pay extra $500 for back up camera they might not use.

Steer senstive headlights....idea been conceieve in 1960's no one until now has inplimented. i think MB is also includeing this on future models. Nice if you drive twisty roads.

Multimedia....just "premium" A/V stuff that anyone can get aftermarket...but lexus adds on at standard also adds on the extra $$$ as standard.

Aerodynamics just R/D and experience that come with the trade
