Pics of the bimmer or it didn't happen!
But congrats! Even though I'm not a fan of the banglelized bimmers, I would still prefer it over the 4G TLs any day!

streetka, i can agree that the pics you posted of the modded 4g tl do look very good, but there was no need to bring that into this thread. if you guys wish to contine this discussion, take it to the acura discussion thread that yummy created. lets keep this thread on topic.
We're in Car Talk now, so keep that 4G TL crap out of this thread. You want to beat a dead horse? Do it in another topic.
Thread cleaned and keep it on topic.

During my walk from the office to NY Penn yesterday, a new black 535i paced alongside in traffic on 7th Ave. That's such a beautiful looking machine that I think I've officially "fallen out of love" with the E60.

End of an era
I will post some pics tomorrow. I had an interesting history with Honda as has my brother. We were a " won over" generation having migrated to the brand as their value proposition won our business away from the Big 3 as they were known then. He now owns 3 BMWs having most recently sold his Pilot and replaced it with an X5. As we were talking about it the other day, it seems the value proposition has faded for Honda in our eyes. Definitely good cars for their day. But I knew that would change when I was provided a new RL to evaluate over the weekend a few years ago by Honda. When I learned of the price I took the time to write a long, critically constructive letter warning them that they had to do much more to extract the kind of price they want for the car. It was the tipping point for me.

Pics of the 2012 535xi M Sport - Carbon Black
The M Sport package has a faster shifting version of the 8 speed ZF transmission as compared to the standard version. This car has adjustable dampers as well as a number of other options such as HUD.

I don't have the letter, but I think my message was; to win over buyers at that kind of money, the car had to be exceptional - something more than it was. If you fast forward to today, I guess that compares to what Hyundai has tried to do with the Equus.

That's not unusual for BMW. During the time I owned an 02 Maxima (rated @ 255hp), I was able to get some seat time behind the wheel of an E90 330i (also rated @ 255hp). It seemed to me that the 330i had a much more robust "255hp" than my Maxima. So, it's clear to me that BMW underrates their hp numbers.

I don't know the pricing on Canadian cars but down here the Honda value proposition holds true on some models. One of my brothers friends has a 2000 RX300 and a 2002 530i. He's replacing he RX300 with a MDX. His wife and he went out and test drove the X5 and MDX, both of them they liked. When it came down to cost the X5 when similarly equipped was ~$10K more the MDX. So now they are negotiating a final deal for a 2011 MDX (with even better pricing). The value may not be there for some, but for others it's still there.

Front seat riders only!
Is the black headliner included in part of the M Sport package to which you referred? There is something I always seem to like about the black headliner.

Congratulations. Beautiful car. Always loved European cars interiors. They seem to have a flair for color combinations and design that is sorely lacking in Japanese cars. If only Acura could hire a few of Audi's interior designers. Still, I am quite happy with my 2012 TL

So $10K more doesn't make much sense unless you really like the BMW more. That was the case of my brother's friend, he thought both SUV's had their pro's/con's but thought they were roughly equivalent and he owns a E60 530i.
