Leased a new car- tint question

Last night, my fiance traded in her Maxima to carmax and we went to the Mazda dealership and she leased me a new Mazda3 s Sedan Touring 5MT. It's Galaxy Grey Mica and a beautiful little car.

The lease is for 24 months. I put down $1500 and the payment is a hair over $200 with 15,000 miles. I thought it was a killer deal since the car was a left over 2007 and there was no difference. They gave me S-Plan pricing minus $1000. Now that I am working from home, this should be perfect.

Anyways, I want to take some pics but it is raining right now on my new baby

I'd like to tint the windows but I'm not sure if I am allowed to... Does anyone know?

I had a 98 sebring that was a lease and i tinted the windows. They gave me no issues.

What happened to the nice SUV you bought your fiance?

Oh i get it. you traded in the gto for the suv. Then her maxima went to you in which she traded in to lease you a Mazda 3.

Damn i have a good memory!

You are correct! We initially wanted to trade the Yukon and get something better on gas but we are too upside down. So, we saved the extra money by getting the Mazda- plus, it is something I wanted because I missed the 6-speed in my GTO.

BTW to everyone, take your car to Carmax to get a purchase offer before trading it in. They gave us $3,000 more than two different Mazda dealerships offered us.

When I bought my Maxima a couple years back it was a lease return and had tinted windows.

I think they generally frown upon it but will not really give you crap about it. If you are that concerned, remove it before you return the car.

And congrats on the new ride. That's a good deal.

I would say the only thing I would be worried about is putting on any tint that is not legal.

Ok, I just made an appointment for 2:30 today. The place I'm having it done at does all of the new cars for the local dealerships. They know all the laws on tinting so I'm not too worried.

Now, the question is, metallic tint on non metallic? I never know the difference, I usually just get what is more expensive (metallic I think)

I've given more cars back with tinted windows than I can remember.

Never had an issue.

Tint it however dark you want it...shouldnt be a big deal when you bring it back, and if it is, take it off...good deal, good luck

Should not be a problem. I know tons of people who lease & tint & not 1 of them has ever had a problem.

Bingo!!!

Pretty sure there will be a clause in you lease that the car must be in a "legal operating condition" for the "state it is registered" in.

Whether or not that's ever enforced for tints -
