Leased car ques.

I have a 04 TL with 18" ADR rims, Tien SS springs and a cold air intake on the leased TL. I want to take it to the dealer for new brakes and an oil change. Will the modifications affect me when my lease is up? I guess what I am asking is does the dealer keep records of this? Upon lease end, I will be putting all stock parts back on. Should I go to different dealer then the one i bought it from?

Thanks for any advice.

As long as you put it back to OEM you should be fine. Actually things like tires dont have to be OEM they just have to be equal value of OEM.

:edit: - not sure about tires size though, im sure you wouldnt give them the 18's anyway

never hook-up a car if you leased it. it just causes more problems to you. but since you are at that situation already, i would bring it to another dealer if they will take it.

meh, not if you return it to stock before turning it in. It also won't matter if you sell it outright or trade it in. (which you can do with a leased car as well.)

EDIT: You don't always have to turn the car in at the end of the lease.

what he said.

If you can put your OEM parts back on, then you should be fine. But you are opening up a can of worms when you mod a leased car because some while some companies may not not give you problems with it, its in the contract that you can't mod it, and some other companies may choose to enforce that rule.

But Lord Helmet is correct as well. He can always sell it himself. As what I did with my Maxima, (eventhough I never modded it. I just wanted out of it because I ended up hating it.)

Nothing you do will effect maintance of the car at a dealer. You'll be fine untill you need to turn the lease in. It doesn't matter with maintance. The service dept doesn't have any of that info anyway. All they have is the VIN & they can't tell if it's leased or bought from their system.

biggest question is...why are you going to the dealer for brakes and an oil change?

In the meantime, it doesn't really matter. What you guys are missing is that the lease is through Honda Finance, not the dealership. Therefore, Honda will probably never know.
