Anxiously waiting for February when the Toronto Auto Show rolls around...I usally go at the time it opens and stay until it closes...I always get a kick out of going to Kia and seeing how poorly the manual cars shift gears...

It's better to go on a weekday anyway! Less of a crowd to deal with!

I went today.

Lots of impressive sites this year. Though my biggest disappoint was NO Dodge Challenger concept

I saw the Mustang GT500 which looks like a beast. Finally sat in a Solstice
Thoroughly checked out the 2007 Tahoe (friend is now highly debating between this and a Ridgeline.) The Civic Si... Sat in a Cayman S...nice. The Jeep SRT8....WOW. M6
S8 The Veyron.....very nice in person...VERY impressed. There were many others..you get the jist.

I was amazed how impressed everyone was of the Ridgeline. My hadnt seen it yet, and was amazed when he finally saw all the design and nuances that put in to the car. And everyone who came up to it the whole time we were there we just impressed by it...so why doesn't it sell well

Here's a few pics:

Custom Volvo XC-90...this thing was sick (friend posing in front of it)

Oh yeah...I thought I had taken a pic of the Toyota FJ Cruiser.

This thing is AWESOME. I loved it.

When my Pathfinder shits the bed...I think I'll have to go for one of these bad boys with the 6 spd manaul....its that awesome. All this...just from sitting in it.

man do we have a sorry auto show in SD or what?! we didn't have any of the essential newcomers like the M6, S8, Bugatti Veyron and.....
the only RS4 we had was a pace car painted with fruity colors. definitely going to LA for next year's show.

did you feel cramped sitting in the front or rear seats with the doors closed? i like everything about it, EXCEPT for the rear and side viewing angles. when the company lease is up on our highlander, i was trying to convince the wife to get the FJ as her car (i'll end up driving it most of the time), but this may be a deal breaker for me.

time to get that IS350. hopefully it will come out with a manny by next year.

Yeah seeing the IS350 with a 6speed will be SWEET.

I didnt sit in the back of the FJ...but my friend did at 6' and he seemed fine. I thought the front was pretty open in terms of space.

I didnt get to spend time checking out visibility and what not. But I know what mean about the rear...I noticed the big panel...where they could have had a larger window.

I still reallllly liked it.

And I bet you'll get a nice discount on one with your wife and all

the best benefit, at least for us, is the company lease program. 30K miles per year, all insurance and maintenance...included. it works out better/cheaper for us since we put on a good amount of miles annually (20K give take). the added bonus is that we can choose a 1, 2, 3, or even 4 year lease, so that we have our option in how long we want to be locked into a particular vehicle. our highlander is up in another year, have decide on what to get next.
