Good to see BMW get a smack for not putting in the oil cooler, stupid decision. Still, winning by default isn't that exciting (to me), the 335i took every single objective test, so I guess price and the oil cooler were the factor. I can live with both.

Burn some dust here
That article made me want to go out right now and buy the G37-S over the 335i.
The new G is a huge improvement but I agree with .....the materials used in the 3er are superior to the G = you get what you pay for.

That's over 200lbs more then my CL... I don't understand why i can weigh so much either... but with the increase in HP, most people won't even look at the vehicle weight...

holy shit, 3668lbs! Even the FX35 (RWD) is @ 4150lbs... I know it's an odd comparison but the G37 is like only 500lbs away from it's SUV sibling! It just doesn't seem right

Backtracking to the mention of the Altima coupe: it does look better in pictures than in person. I would rather get a leftover 07 G35C.

I'm glad they used price. I can't stand it when they don't. IRL, people have to pay for the cars they drive. So basically, their conclusion is that BMW is not worth the extra cost.
Oh, and don't discount the oil cooler thing. That is a major mistake. What else did they forget? Definitley makes me leery of the car.

Why bother comparing them if they are just going to judge a win based on $. When the BMW clearly was the better performing car.
Granted, I think mags should take $ into consideration but shouldn't weigh it nearly as much as the car's overall qualities.

The G37 haters / BMW fanbois come out!
I love the 335i, but the G37 is so close to it in performance, yet it costs ~$8000 less that I think the G37 is the best buy. Besides, I love the way the G37 looks, INSIDE and OUT, the 335i exterior is amazing, but the interior is weak. All IMO of course. Can't go wrong with either car for those that can afford them! =D

G37 interior is bunkass.
335 interior looks refined and sophisticated, yet not overdone.

But in the end, it is just an opinion....which is nearly impossible to quantify, of course.

i was just reading the C&D on my throne this morning when I realized that the g37 weighs 300lbs more than the 335....7cu in. trunk (talk about tiny!) and of course way less torque.
Ummm.....kinda lookin weak now...atleast for what I am looking for.

I thought the weight difference was 3571 (335) vs. 3682 (G37).... for a difference of about 100 lbs...

The question remains whether the G37 Sport will match the acceleration of the BMW 335i, which hits 60 mph in only 4.8 seconds and trounces the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds at almost 106 mph. Our seat-of-the-pants assessment says that the G37 isn't quite up to that task, due mostly to its torque deficit, fewer gears (the Bimmer has a six-speed automatic) and heavier estimated weight (3,682 pounds vs. 3,571 pounds).

So funny.
Don't believe the 8000$ thing. At resale, the net addtional cost (if any) will be far from this figure.
I don't doubt the G37 competence, I just can't stand its tasteless styling; the previous Coupe was much more classy.

I really hope the G75 coupe has a better sport suspension than the G35 sedan does.
I wasnt that impressed by the G35 sedan handling. Even though i still think its a great car for the money.

i'm debating btween 335 coupe and G37 for my next car....went to bmw for the susan koman foundation and didn't even get a chance to drive the 335 coupe cus it was put in the shop...i waited for an hour and it still never made it out the shop...so i drove the 335 sedan instead....and let me say that thing is a monster but it's temp needle was right around 280 and would go down only a lil bit once i was cruising but never made it to the midline.

1. You going to mod your car? if so 335i
2. The looks (subjective)
3. If you want bang for bucks, G37 beats the 335i by a long shot.
cheers!
