Is this an ESL thread or a "should I sell my car" thread?

By the way, I say sell.

I'd keep the TL but since you're just 24... get the rice rocket! Watched 2 Fast 2 Furious over the weekend, man those ricer meets get the hot babes.

We had none of that action in the 70's, just a bunch of car nuts with the odd skank here and there.

I didnt buy them from the dealership but THATS HOW MUCH THEY WERE. I ended up getting Michelin PS from a local tire shop. I think it was $220 a tire.

Keep the TL-S.
It's a completely different class of car. I like the luxuries the TL-S would offer over the Evo.

If you do spring for the Evo though, go with Blue.

Don't forget the evo maintenance is VERY VERY costly.

10k miles I bought new tires. The stock yokohamas cost well over $300 a piece from the dealership. The brake pads last 20k miles, synthetic oil, differential, clutch, mods yada yada its a money pit trust me.

Don't mess with agency power either its not the best quality. 350whp is not that easy or cheap. Boost controller, fuel pump, turboback exhaust, custom tune, gauges, and labor will cost well over $1500.

If you do get the evo, spend money on hpde/track events. Learn how to drive the car fast properly. You will get addicted to track days and it is not cheap. Other than that its a great car and a fun hobby.
Going to have to disagree a little with you here. I had an VIII and can't say that maintenance was expensive. If you want to mod it and call that costly thats fine, but keeping a stock Evo or lightly modified Evo is not costly at all. At least i didn't think so.

Yup, if you rent the DVD then you can see a prelude where he finds and builds the Evo. Then he goes around racing for money. Was good, kinda Easy Rider vibe, don't know why they didn't put it in the film.

keep the TL-S. does that evo have Navigation? a rear back up camera? I can tell that the evo doesnt have the lights on the side mirrors. the TL-s has sooooo many features that the evo lacks. does it have voice command?

u are young so the evo is right for u, but its a rice car.

a MUST-HAVE for the evo is a spoiler. that white evo pic is missing a spoiler :-(

If speed is what you're after, get the Evo X. But if it were up to me, I'd keep the TL-S.

You can get it with navi, yeah. But the Evo isn't nearly as nice as the TL-S. They're really two different types of cars. It's just about you figuring out whether you want something that's all about speed, or something with some luxury in it

Honestly... You just have to decide whether or not you want a rally bred AWD turbo rocket, cause man do they sure feel good, especially in the twisties, or a handsome slower yet sporty fwd luxo-sedan.

I would go test drive it and see how you like it. Everyone that says an Evo is rice has no idea what rice is, or what an Evo really is

Im pretty sure the car in the prelude was a 3000GT VR-4. The main green car is an EVO:

Now this is rice

Actually he races a 3000GT at the beginning of the prelude until it is confiscated by police. Then he finds and buys an R34 Skyline from some ghetto dealership which he uses in the beginning of 2F2F until it he crashes it into a parking meter and the cops take it away from him and give him an Evo and his friend an Eclipse GT spyder.

Let me ask this, why get an EVO if it's not the MR? In my opinion, the MR would be worth the switch over, but to be honest, the GSR isn't.

Ah that's right. Guess I was all confused with the complex plot of the movie.

I looked into the MR but my wife veto'ed it quickly. Since she would also be driving it, she was afraid that some punks would jack it. In truth, it is a (rich) young man's car. It's $53k in Canada while a 4G TL SH-AWD is $45k.

The MR and GSR look exactly the same, only difference is transmission and cruise control

I guess I can see the appeal at 23 yrs old, if you are gonna do it, do it now. You can drive a nice cruiser like a TL when you are 33.

Have you test drive an Evo X yet? Another thing is that Evo X MR's interior isn't that bad, once you sit in those leather recaros, everything sits will feel pale in comparison.
