I do drive the my CLS 6spd all year long, and I'll probably do the same with the next car I buy (what that is, depends on the week).

Thats why God invents mods... start buying parts to keep you interested in it! Cheaper than buying a new car.

Your car is paid off and its a good enough car. DOnt waste your money on the car, take that 10k and put it into your house! DOnt be dumb and buy a car.

I doubt he could do enough to that car that would make him want to enjoy it, and what he did do, he'd get bored w/ quick
hell, I already think the GTO is slow

But whats the point of not driving it more if he just plans to get rid of it.
Take that cobra out and drive it. Maybe then you will not want to sell it.

i deliberated for 2 years on whether or not to sell my cl-s. on a monthly basis during that time period too. im glad i waited on selling the car though, and i would keep the cobra and save up to buy a z06 preowned in a couple of years. have fun with the car you've got, theres no reason why you shouldnt be. its a goddamn cobra

I get this urge weekly.... it's tough to fight.

i would never buy a last gen anything...it would bother me too much. seeing as your cobra is now last gen though, i'd probably sell it and buy a new vette like shawns. and no convertibles IMO.

Nicky, it's time. Buy the Vette convert.

'Big Daddy Diggler'
They are both awesome cars. I feel the Cobra is rarer, but still looks to close to the v6 mustang as well. But for quick and cheap modability, i'd stay with the cobra. But dont sleep on the vette with heads and cam. The LS1 can make over 400 to the wheels easily.

Im hoping the PT can keep my intrest for that long, although Im sure it can. The good thing about getting what you REALLY want the first time is that when you feel like buying new you always go back to what you already have.
I <3 my PT. Plus its worth jack-shit to anyone else but me.

My bad then. I thought you had the cobra for longer than that.
Also i think the cobra looks better than the C5 vette. C5 looks old already since the C6 has been out for awhile. IMO of course

My CL is paid off and I'm "making payments" for my next new car... It's worth as much as a new Civic EX, so I'm keeping it for awhile...

The Vette will be as quick as a lightly modded cobra, but it'll handle a lot better.

How about we keep this thread around and recycle it for everyone who goes through a car crisis? We could rename the title to "Keep the * or get the *?"

Mine listed for 53K and I paid just over 47K for it.
But mine is pretty much loaded.
You can get a “stripper” 2006 coupe for about 41K.

As for my opinion on the C5….
Drive a C6 and you won’t be looking at the C5 again.
Check out the Corvette Forums.
Many C6 owners upgraded from the C5 and said it’s a big jump in quality and performance.
To be close you would have to jump from a C5 Z06 to a C6 Z51 and then you’re similar in performance.
Quality is still much better in the C6.

I almost thought this was Nicky’s post that I was reading over on the Corvette Forum this morning.
I thought he bit the bullet and ordered a 2006 vert.
Lots of similarities, but the mustang year is wrong.

Going from 05 TL to a 06 Vette Convertible!
The family thinks I spend all my money in cars... I think it is my obligation
I have always been a fan of corvettes but wasn't able to easily afford one before now hehe so back in 2000 I settled for a 01 SVT Cobra Convertible that I traded last year for a 05 Acura TL thinking that I was done with the whole sports car phase... but NO, I still wanted a Corvette before I get marry and have to be driving a van... so as I entered my middle age crisis of 25 I went to the dealer and placed an order for a 2006 Corvette Convertible. Should be a couple of weeks before I get it and well needless to say I CAN'T WAIT!

I don't know, I was just reading the cobra board, seems a lot of guys don't have problems.
If it's a ferrari to you, you'd have more then 4K on it

I'll put miles on it this year. Like I said...I did a lot of boating last year....I moved to my own place...I broke up with a GF of 4 years! I worked alot over the summer detailing cars too. Last year I barely drove it...this year will be different!

Save the money Nicky. Going in debt again for another car doesn't make sense right now. You are a homeowner, so invest in that. Remember, you can't live in your car...well, not for a long time that is.
