Just visiting!

Hey guys, been out of the CL-S scene for about 2 years now and wanted to see if anything new and awesome is available for the CL. I really miss my old car, as it was my first "true car" so to speak. A very considerate tractor trailer took her life. Anyways I went to the darkside... German engineering. Went to a 05.5 "B7" S4 4.2 V8 after the CL-S, and just last month moved up again to a 08' "B7" RS4. Anywyas, here's some pics:

S4:

And for my new found love:

BTW, this forum, probably has more maturity than any other I frquent, just thought I'd throw that out there...

Beautiful car dude, shes gorgeous . I went with my friend to audi last week, he was looking to buy an RS4. We test drove it and according to him (i didnt drive, he did) it wasnt nearly fast enough for the amount of power it was putting out. He said the body roll was pretty bad and it handled like shite. Once again, im not dogging your car, just telling you his opinion.

We sat at the dealership for 7hours waiting for them to make a waiting list for an RS5. They had to contact the headquarters in germany and after 7 hours and a big deposit he was on a brand new waiting list for the RS5.

Anyway, beautiful car man, take good care of her

I can tell you right now this car is very fast and tight for a 3700 lb. 4 door sedan. Maybe if you were comparing it to a 911 GT3 you can say that.....
420 HP, 8200 RPMs and a G of lateral handling is plenty for me. With a good launch you can achieve a 4.4-4.5 0-60 and a mid 12 sec. 1/4.... IN THE RAIN =) Its a wonderful compromise of daily driving mixed with performance and luxury. Unfortunatly I need a 4 door so the RS5 was a no go. Thanks though! I love her so.

I hate you and your RS4, how that for maturity.

Awesome choice in the RS4. If you don't mind me asking, how much was the final purchase price for the car? I've been looking into getting an EVO X for my next car and I hadn't even thought of the RS4.

I paid 54K out the door. Mine is also low miles(17K) and rare due to the Titanuim package I wanted. You could get one for low to high 40's all day. Just be aware to check for leaks in the DRC suspension system and make sure to buy CPO'd. You need a warranty for these cars.

BTW, the RS has soooooo much more style and comfort than any evo could ever offer. And a glorious 8200 rpm high reving V8. True mechanical AWD 40/60 split. Go for the RS4 if you have the means, its a MUCH better car all round.

If I was gonna spend 40K on a car I would pick up an Evo IX for about 25K and put a good 10-12K worth of mods into it and run 9second 1/4miles all day. But thas just me, alot of people want a good bit of comfort and luxury that the Evo does not offer. But from a pure performance point of view a Evo IX with 7-8K worth of mods under the hood (cams, turbo-back, intake and exhaust manifold, upgraded turbo, ported o2housing, tune, etc...) will destroy any production car on the road today, throw in another 2K in suspension and that thing will be doing over 1G on the skidpad. And if you want, another 2K for wheels and tires, but thats just me.

I was driving behind a beautiful blue RS4 last night and all I can say is that thing exhibited zero body roll going around turns and sounded like a pure racecar when it took off. I think your friend is full of sh*t.

We were talking out of the box, and the RS4 destroys the Evo anything in that perspective. Over 100 more HP, and a top notch interior full of comforts.
I hear what your saying, but a 9 second EVO is still half the car the rs4 is.

You can thank the DRC suspension for the great handling. Google it if you dont know the technology behind it.

with you 1000000000000%

I dont care how fast an Evo is, you can never compare Mitsubishi to an Audi/BMW/Benz. You hear "german engineering" not japanese. Theres just sooooooo much more technology and quality in those cars

But it looks like your into speed so to each his own

Exactly, everyone has a preference when it comes to cars. You might love a luxurious, comfortable, german performance car and I prefer raw power and performance you get from a modded Evo. And yes out of the box an RS4 can take an Evo, but its not by much, The RS4 does 60 in the low 4's and the evo does it like .3seconds slower and an Evo IX has almost identical 1/4mi. times an the RS4 (low 13's) and ive seen a few stock evo's break into the 12's with a really good 2-step launch

Now the RS4 is all top end, and i think after about 110mph the RS4 will whoop ass, But until then they are almost identical in speed. And technically all a Evo needs is a good $300 tune and it will walk an RS4

Thanks for the info. I will never buy a German car without a strong warranty program backing it. And 54K is too much for me to get the car as a daily driver. I'm only looking for spend about 35K for a DD, so that's why the EVO X option might work, irregardless of the the luxury amenities and qualities that I would miss out on.

i love when people (usually younger) love to post that they would rather take a cheaper car and then dump 10-20K in mods the make it faster than the more expensive car...and that is somehow better.
BTW, sweet car! I love RS4's

OP: Sweet ride.... And the titanium package (I assume it's the wheels and paint job) look nice.

I could have went that route, but for me, an RS4 in japan would have run $80K, then I have no dealers here on island. So it would have been too expensive. I just went domestic and love what I got.

Damn nice progression CL -> S4 -> RS4. Did you get a ridiculous raise or something?

I've always been a huge fan of Audi's. In fact my first car that I owned was an old 5000s.

I can't believe people still believe this crap. A good repair shop will have that car back to 100%. Autobody repair technology/equipment is leaps and bounds better than it was 15-20 years ago. The "It will never be the same" statement goes in the same category of "Change your oil every 3 months/3K miles". In other words, it's a load of But anyways, that's a nice Audi!

Thanks for all the comments guys. Comparison wise, the 2 cars are very similar in feel until you start going fast, then the RS4 shows its true characteristics. From 5K all the way until 8200 RPMs, the RS pulls very hard. I mean your at 70 mph in 2nd in about 4 seconds.... Brakes are much better, as is handling.

Here's a few more pics for the masses. BTW its Daytona grey peral, not blue, thought the pics kinda made it out as so.

Congrats on the RS4 w/ the titanium package. Those are hard to find, but I think they look better with the black-out grill and dark wheels. And even bigger congrats on buying used. These suckers were going for $70k when they first came out. You definitely saved some cash by letting someone else take the 20% depreciation and gas guzzler tax.

Thanks man, I see you have a TI RS too huh? What wheels are those? They look nice. I was considering P?Cing my oem rims black for a more agressive contrast in color. I wouldn't have been able to afford one new anyways, so used was the way to go for me! Thanks again for the compliments!
