Just test drove a TL Type S
I just test drove the TL Type S today at Ed Napleton Acura in Elmhurst IL while my CL was getting aligned at a nearby shop. The TL TYPE S is very nice! Very quick car in comparrison to the 3.2 TL (I had a loaner last week). SS is smooth, corners nicely and acceleration off the line is impressive. It's a bit more stiffer then the standard TL...which is good in my opinion.
After test driving this car I was thinking that I would never buy a dealer demo car! Imagine what people who test drive these things do! I definitely would get the TL Type S if I wanted a 4 door vehicle. My bro is thinking of getting this car, but right now it's too expensive. It's hard to negotiate since it just came out. Waiting a few months or so wont hurt. He would like to get it with navi for 33k out the door, or cheaper then that.. we'll see... You guys know anyone who has bought one and how much they payed?

Type-S/Nav for 33k OTD??? haha, nah, ain't gonna happen man... I don't know how things are over in Chicago, but over here in LA, CA, Acura hardly gives discounts especially if it just came out... They'll give you a discount on an integra, but not on a premium car like that, that was just released...
I bought my CL-P/Nav 2 weeks after it came out.. the dealer gave me $400 off MSRP only... Base price was $30,465 + $2,000 for Nav and gave a discount of $465... Not much, but they threw in floor mats, mud guards, defogging spray, wheel locks, and a 3 year paint protection.
so $32,000 even... with tax, licensing, registration and a spoiler, it came out to $34,500.
I heard slick deals on CL's about 3 months after it came out... So i'd tell your friend to wait... Getting it for $33,000 OTD is highly unlikely... Wait, actually, does he want Nav or not? Even the non-Nav model seems kinda hard. I noticed that Acura doesn't really give discounts much, but you can negotiate on accessories...
Just make sure he gets a stock body kit.. its damn nice... And tell Acura to make us a Dang factory body kit!!

The dealer closest to me (Superior Acura) only had two tl-s this weekend, so I don't think they'd take anything off MSRP. I would assume you could get some deals on the cl-s though cause they had a ton of them. As soon as they sell off the old tl's then you'll see the price go down.

Springfield Acura out here in Jersey was selling the 30 TLS' they had for sticker price, and the lowdown is if u haggle enough you can get it down to a couple hundred below sticker.
i also test drove the TLS. For some reason it didn't seem quite as fast as my CLS. maybe that was just a fluke... (a slow TLS). anyway, i tore that demo a new one, i miss the handling my CLS' springs give me, but i miss the little extra comfort of having the stock springs. btw: i hate the steering wheel design
