Love the car! Fit and finish looks awesome. and I am sure that 5.0 is a beast. One criticism (really the only crticism about its styling I've always had about it is the grille. What is your opinion on it? Wondering how Genesis owners feel about it. Do they have any aftermarket options for it? I just think that horizontal bar down the middle of it doesn't belong there.

I love the suspension ride right now. If there was something comparable to the TEIN Flex or TEIN SS w/ EDFC I'd be all over it... but for now I'm waiting.
Sent - sorry for the delay.
Agree. This town is full of old abandoned warehouses / train depot's etc
Do it. Life's too short. Trade / buy, hoon -- rinse and repeat.

Couple of pics from today... Cell phone never the less, but I found a new location.
Taking recommendations for winter rims. Stock size is 19x8.5 with 5x114.3 +35 --- offset is a requirement to clear BBK. I'll be running studded snows, and would like to drop down to 18's if possible, but I'm still looking at options. Suggestions?

I have a shop here locally doing the pipe work. The underpinnings of this car are quite simple... I plan on getting rid of the resonator, and from the consensus on the genny forums the Magnaflow mufflers lend a nice sound.
The tailpipe finishers integrated into the bumper are just that - finishers. The OEM mufflers has an oval tip which sits just inside that tip.
There are a number of places where the exhaust flow could be smoothed out. Not to mention I want to hear this motor a bit more.
MSA was working on an X-pipe... so I'll see how that shapes up as well.
Since nobody seems to want to do anything or dig into what this car / motor is capable of... you have to start somewhere.
Dyno session at "Smokey's Dyno" this Friday should provide some insight too.

Dont know about winter wheels but for tires I recommend studded General Arctic Altimax. I had them last year and loved them, switched to michelin pilot alpin pa3 this year and hated them as there was barely any traction in anything more than a few inches. Sold the set up and went back to a new set of Generals and couldnt be happier .
Whats the bolt pattern on stock wheels?

Time some R&D... Thanks to Smokey's Dyno for fitting me in on a really shitty night. AFR's need tweaked. Tuning will come shortly. Ordered the test pipes and need to get the wide-band installed. Ignore the peak as that's the transmission up shifting - peak HP had already been hit. Again this is to serve as a baseline for future work.
Comparison wise... Inside line reported 364/342.

why is there a spike near redline ?

The spike was due to the car up-shifting at the tail end of the run. Peak values had already been achieved so that last value is erroneous.

The one thing you do notice with the car is the weight. Hyundai did go through a number of measures to shave weight which is only evident if you start digging in.
Note there are full replacement CF body panels for this car - which to say the least is a bit extreme for a car of this size / weight / class... but it's nice to know those products exist. One thing I think I will pick up is the KDM steering wheel which provides a much more meaty feel.
I need to dig in and look at some of the components more but this car was engineered quite well.
There are some features I miss from the TL -- mainly the GUI / Navi interface is much more refined in the TL and Honda has had this nailed down for some time.
I do wish there were options to delay the timer for auto headlight off / headlight on.
Both side mirrors fold down with in reverse tilt mode - can not switch to independent left or right.
The option to control the dimming / time delay of the interior lights does not exist.
The big one is the TC / nanny system. Off does not mean off - you'll have more rope to potentially hang yourself with, but in order to fully disable the system you must go through a step by step procedure which includes removing the ESC (TC) fuse, turning off via the button, then replacing the fuse. Under most circumstances you'd never need to do this, but I like knowing that the option is there should I need it.
All in all after a week and over 1500 miles of driving thus far it's performing just fine -- as an FYI the OEM Lexicon blows the ELS system out of the water. Depth, imaging, detail etc are much better in the Genny.
- Aluminum hood
- Aluminum suspension components.
- partial plastic on lower portion of the trunk.
- 4 pot BBK calipers which weigh less then the standard single or OEM 2 piece counterparts.

Pretty portly, all things considered. I'm surprised.
ETA: My link didn't have the weight for the R-Spec specifically. It, apparently, weighs more according to jnc's post below.

Does the car 'feel' heavy? 4100 is pretty fat.

Only when pushed to it's absolute limits with the tires / suspension. It gets off the line like you wouldn't believe; downshifts at 40mph to pass / on ramps etc will be done with ease - heck it'll even spin the tires on downshifts.
I've always been proponent of coil-overs. OEM's don't tend to dial in the feedback I personally like to feel / enjoy when driving. Example: within 5k miles of having the SH-AWD TL I had already swapped the OEM's for Tein SS w/ EDFC and a full camber kit to keep things within line.
Luckily, there are a few coil-over kits out there for the Genny (after doing some research) -- but the ultimate find will be getting the parts number for the KDM version... I have to do some more reading.
To sum it up -- you would never know / have a feeling of this being a large sedan when day to day driving. Back and forth to work, around town - etc. Put it on a track though, or through some very quick switchbacks and its lest composed then the 4G TL was. But then again if I'm going to have a fun weekend / track car it best be at least 1000lbs lighter.
As for the KDM guys -- here's a little of what they have been doing.
