Well, those cars pulled enough timing that it was not an issue. In that case, you most likely sacrificed power. A few years ago the AV6 recommended premium for the quoted power output, and you got less when you ran lesser grades. If memory serves, a car rag or a forum member ran dyno tests that proved that to be true.
Did you check your MPGs filling up on high grade and low? It's cheaper to run some vehicles with premium because of the better gas mileage not only the power and it ends up costing more running low grade IIRC.
when we first owned our 06 tsx we used premium gas for just over 2 months. We then switched to regular-did not feel any loss in power and the MPG were the same. (in the 30's) We did notice our MPG went down when we bought new tires.
