Insurance Rates for Inexperienced Drivers

When do they go down? Anybody know the general rule of thumb?

For a female driver, btw. No accidents, tickets or claims.

I was thinking it was about age 24.

Here in Alberta, Canada, I never experienced substantial discounts until I was twenty-five.

Youre complaining about $1700/yr!

I was paying $1400 every 6 months. Thats what being a dumbass and having your license suspended 4 times in 4 years get you. Lesson learned.

I switched to Gieco though and now Im paying $940 every 6 months.

My bike insurance has always been the same $180/yr though oddly enough. I think it actually dropped $20 this year.

I saw a decrease when i was 21, not much though. The largest one was when i was 25, and again once i was married (yea, like that changed my driving)

Girls have gotten away with cheaper rates for some time but i do think that will change

I think it's supposed to be 25.
That's when most rental companies open up to allow you to rent vehicles.

Even so, I find it funny that I'm the cheapest in my whole family despite being a 20 y/o male. $660 a year. Everyone else is at least $500 more.

There was a rate decrease one year after she got this policy with no accidents, tickets or claims. That was about 18 months ago.

Sounds like the next drop will probably be at 25-years old.
