Question Infinity M series...OPTION????

Been looking around the internet for an option. Currently driving an '06 RL, Black and Tan with 51K mls. Really like the car, but the color is starting to wear on me. Black is a pain. Have seen quite a few M-35 AWD, relatively low mileage in the $22K>$28K range for '07/'08s.
Any opinions on the fit and finish. Can they run with the RL?
Please feel free to express your thoughts.

Meh I would keep the RL.

Just don't buy American or a Skyline and you'll be okay.

I love both the RL and M. Are you thinking about getting rid of the RL JUST because it's black? Is it paid off?

Yes, it's paid off and Black looks like hell dusty or dirty.

Weird or not....the questions remain:
*How do they compare Fit & Finish?
*Can the M Series run with the big dogs?
I'm not trying to change...I'm looking at OPTIONS.

I traded in my 07 TL-S for an 07 M45 Sport and honestly I am very very close to going back to Acura. Main reason is the easy function of the Acura Navigation while the vehicle is in motion. Also, the processing speed of my M45's navi lags quite a bit after you input an address. The main benefits I truly enjoy from my M45 is power/torque, and A/C seats....lol.

Goodl luck on your search!

Options etc.

Interesting.....how would you rate the M-45 handling and comfort wise?
One of my concerns is the lack of difference between the 06 thru the 09 RL.

That really pisses me off in my Lexus that I can't change anything while I'm driving, gets extremely irritating at times.

We should see a redesigned RL for the 2013 MY. Honestly, I think an M35X is a boring car, M45 is much more fun to drive. I think the interiors are better in Acura vs. Infiniti. I'd vote for keeping the RL.

Thanks for the info. It will be interesting to see if the RL evolves into a TL on roids.

Merry Xmas!!!

black is a pain but many things can be done.

The RL is just as sexy as the M (and i love the older M)

Start off by clay barring your car, this removes surface contaminants and allows you to apply a clean seal to the paint.

Once you have clayed the car, give it a good wash with microfiber towels and good old fashioned car soap.

hand dry with Mfiber towels and apply your first coat of a synthetic wax (i recommend NXT for the DIYer)

wait an hour and apply your second layer of wax.

follow up with a sealant (i recommend some brothers sealant)

although it's not a pro detail your car will look good and will repel dust

Personally I like the M45 more than the RL. I think there is really no comparison because one is a V6 and the other is a V8. Between the RL and M35x you will fine that most of us are split. I like the quality of Infiniti. Very well made car.

The biggest problem is that the Nissan VQ35 engine has been plagued with oil consumption issues. Hop online and google it. I had an I35 that started consuming oil at about 90K miles. Other than that (and this is a big one) I really liked the quality of my Infiniti. Personally I found it to be better than Acura.

From a pure styling standpoint that is up to you. Both are fairly different. It will be up to your taste.

This is kind of obvious but why not test drive the M45? Drive the same route in both cars and you should have a reasonable comparison of the two.

Right, test drives tend to be short lived and I get caught up in the moment. Ideally looking for a longer term evaluation of either the M35 or M45.

Merry Xmas!!!

Rarely see any M's on the road.

Stick with your RL.

Oorah!

If your RL is paid for I personally would hang onto it. No need to go into five years of debt, or pick up a used car where you are unsure of the maintenance just because it may be easier to clean.

The current M is a pretty big upgrade over the previous M, esp. the interior.

If it were btwn the RL and the current M, I'd say go for it; against the previous M, keep the RL.

My parents have an M45x. Awesome car, but the best part is the V8 sound. I agree with the comments above... keep the RL if you are looking at the 6 cylinder M but the RL can't compete with a V8.
