Infiniti's Around View Monitor or Lexus Self parker????
Which one do you guys think is a better system to have? I think Infiniti's system is waaaaaaaaaaay better and much smarter and sick system to have. I mean the self parker is cool but that new thing by Infiniti is HOT. I hope Acura can come out with some real cool feature in one of their new cars coming out soon.
If you haven't seen it yet here is a short video.

Let's see. Lexus PARKS ITSELF and Infiniti shows you how not to back into another car.
Hmm. I'll take the Lexus.
Though this system does have merit for just about every person in Florida.

I chose Infiniti's system because I enjoy having most of the control. I think in the Lexus system, you still have to control the brakes, but that's about it. Maybe it's my depth perception, but cameras still throw me off. I like those sonic sensors that beep at you when you get too close to an object. A lot of manufacturers use them, like BMW.

I voted neither. If you can't park you shouldn't have your license.

infiniti's is better. the lexus self parker only works if theres a certain amount of space in between. if the space is too small (but large enough to fit the car) it wont work, and yeah you still need to use the break pedal yourself
also infinitis you can use while driving to check blind spots.

I'll give Lexus a A+ in marketing for the self-parking feature. In practicality it gets an F.
This is the first I've seen of the Infiniti system (they don't let me out of the cage too often) but a system that integrates four camera views into one overhead image sounds fantastic!
The Lexus system requires you to manipulate and plot "reference points" via the backup camera before engaging the auto park system. Sounds like a PITB. Viewing the overhead image Infiniti provides requires you to simply touch a button. Hmmmm.

I heard the Lexus only backs in to spaces too, I guess it would make sense, since it's pretty easy to just pull INTO a spot. I guess I would only use it for parallel parking... BUT with that said... I'd rather have the Infiniti system... I rather know ALL my surroundings, especially blind spots...

i've never tried the lexus system, but I doubt I'd use it often. I only might parallel park a few times a month, and usually it's not hard at all, but maybe because my car is tiny. I think the Infiniti system would be more helpful on a day to day basis. Although watching that screen and overhead view, I think I would get confused and take some getting used to.

Self parking is cool, but being able to see what's immediately next to your car is more practically useful, like being able to see blind spots for instance, not only for situations when you're parking.
I would still like to have camera's on each side of the bumper so you can see cars coming as you are pulling out of an intersection with low visibility... like they have on the Accord's in Japan. If Infinit's system can also do that, that would be a big plus

Infiniti has a better system in my opinion. What happened to the good ol'mirror and shoulder parking system?

Looks like the poll shows a tight race between the Infiniti system and the 'neither' option. Sorry Lexus, the former is my first choice.

all I know is... I have a cheesy aftermarket backup camera I got from Costco... I don't use it most of the time, but it has come in handy at times when I had no choice but (parallel) park in a very tight space... and I highly doubt the Lexus feature would even attempt the very tight spots
