Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe, lookin better and better....
#41
I think both cars are about the same speed with the interior going to the CLS but there is such a HUGE difference in handling characteristics between a FWD car and RWD. If weather isn't a factor, the RWD car flies through corners soooo easily and assuredly. Go test drive the G35 coupe before making any judgements and if you like to fly through corners, the CLS just doesn't measure up.

I know everybody wants that RWD.......but I'm sticking with FWD here in Buffalo.
However, I LOVE the looks & numbers on that G35 coupe......
If I didn't need to drive it all year, I'd rather have it.....I can't afford it AND my CL-

I just sat in one yesterday and the interior is still SHIT !!!
The Infinity salesmen were drooling all over my freshly waxed car like flies on a fresh LOG.
They asked if I was interested in trade numbers and I told them ….BUH…BYE

At that pont, I'd rather spend another 3K and get a time-tested car (BMW 330Ci) and have better resale value.

Fair enough...
I for one wouldn't be getting a auto. tranny in a 330Ci, so knock off 1300. Combine that with the fact that the G35C interior looks like a POS, a better BMW resale value, more room in that back seat from what I can tell....
I'll still take the Bimmer any day...

Scrib,
I just went to the BMW website and built a 330ci. With the following options the 330 came out to $44K. That comes out to $6K more than the fully loaded G36 coupe not $3K. Big difference.
A NAV'ed CL-S with the common aftermarket things most people here get to come close to the G35 performance prices out to mid 30's.
Leather seats
Premium Package
Auto Trans
Heated seats
Xenon headlights
Nav system

Right now on the BMW webpage, the below options total to MSRP $43,470 for a 2003 car (quite a bit more than a G35C or CL-S). You have to pick leather before choosing Premium package. Premium gives you Montana leather, a better leather. But you can't choose Premium from the webpage until you choose Leather on the previous page which is itself an expensive option over the leatherette. But nice to hear you got 1500 off. That's a large amount off from a BMW.

I've got a couple good job prospects in the works. And I've got the wife about 95% with me on the BMW bandwagon... I may wait through the winter months though...
Toughest desicion is going to be the color combo. Topaz Blue with Natural Brown interior looks so freakin' pimp!!! But that blue will be such a pain to keep clean. I may end up with a Titanium Silver car if I decide to get one....
So confused....

I have been in both the preproduction and production coupes now and don't really see the 'interior is shit' line. I really do not feel the CL is light years above the G35...I mean the CL now has its own 'titanium' trim inside also. And I wouldn't call it ugly either. It has much more personality than the CL...which is a very conservative design at best and boring at worst.
Overall, I really think the G35 is a good car, but appeals to a different person than the CL. From the test drives, the G35 is a little more flash, power, and cost than the CL. The CL has a slight edge on refinement, a bigger edge on room, and a softer ride. Oh, and of course the FWD v. RWD.
They are both good cars. To each his own.
