Identify this car for me

So does anyone know what it is? I went through the Merc wiki but couldn't find any pics of a coupe that looked like this one. I found it while perusing some local abandon places websites and am interested in knowing more about this car. Thanks.

It looks like a 280 coupe... Cruise around the Classic Car Trader and see if there is a car for sale, which matches the body lines.

Happy Hunting...

no, not really at all, I was looking online for some ideas of interesting places to snap some unique pictures. Apparently this coupe is in a garage in an abandoned police station which I found thought was quite interesting, it could have a very unique history etc.

That IS interesting. Often it's the stories behind abandoned or found autos that make them the most interesting.

Older MB's are very expensive to restore. Reproduction parts are often not available and new parts are VERY expensive.

That sounds like modern ones too. Here's another pic, plated in 73 by the looks of it.

Sounds like a cool history. I wonder why it presently resides an an abandoned police garage. Find out more info if you can.

Would be cool if it was seized in some crazy crime or something like that.

man, here's what you do, buy that car. go to the local junk yard and take whatever fender you can get your hands on. find some generic hood and slice it to fit. mismatch fenders, ply-wood trunk.

the front end looks big enough for a 2JZ tho, but if that's too pricey B16

dude, that cars body looks to actually be in pretty good shape aside from the crap all over it, I bet a good wash would reveal that it's pretty clean given it's age.

Yeah, it would be interesting. I believe the 220 was produced between '61-'71, and going by last registration, it may have been reasonably new when placed in the police station.

Speaking of old MB coupes, it anyone is interested in a 280C, please contact me privately.

Full respray on a dent free and rust free body. Original paint stripped to bare metal and a complete refinishing. Less than 80 000 original miles. The interior is white leather and immaculate. The powertrain in perfect and requires nothing. The entire car shows very well and is quite striking.

The pics are from inside one of my old barns and don't do it justice. Not driven since restoration.

Terry, is that a Grand National under the plastic?

And the MB sounds like it would be alright if the internals are still in tact. If the price was right, I'd give it a shot.

it would more than likely be free as it's would probably qualify for an abandoned title.

Some guy I park next to all the time in a garage in Philly has an old 300CD white in mint condition inside and out. I would love to have one of those cars.

Terry, may I suggest that you post a for sale thread in the "Cars for sale" section of the site, it would get you a few more views at least. It looks to be in good condition, just a bit dusty.
