Ideas for a used car $10k to $12k?
My sister totalled her car over the weekend and she is looking for a replacement. Something preferable newer then 2000, and something that will be reliable but fun for a girl.
Thanks!
Thanks!

hyundai tiburon. they're very reliable and fun and a 2003-up can easily be had for $12k or less.
same story with the celica. plus, i only see girls driving them so it'd be good for your sister.

Just did a quick search. Yes you should be able to pick up a Mazda3 Hatch with 40k miles for $12k.
The Hatch is the one she'd want. It's so practical having that extra room back there. It's not quite a wagon but I was impressed with how much stuff we could fit in there. Plus all of the hatchbacks come with the 2.3L motor. The 2.0L is soooooo slow. That may not be important to her but when it comes to accident avoidance and highway passing I couldn't see myself driving a car with such little horsepower.

Have her buy a Dodge Neon or Ford Focus then
Mazda 3 would be tops on my list after the usual Honda products...

if she'd be willing to get a little bit higher mileage car (still under 100k though), you might want to look at the Maxima. i've owned one and they're great cars and very reliable.
