The old ES was kind of boring to drive but the new F sport hopefully will have more of a fun to drive feel that the Honda/Acura's have.

No it will not, just my guess after having test driven an f-sport rx

Oops I hit enter too fast. What I mean to say was...

No it will not, just my guess after having test driven an f-sport rx and comparing it to our run of the mill rx. The F Sport just has nicer looking wheels and a different grille.

If the new Avalon is any indication then the ES should inch closer to the performance side of the spectrum, though I think it’s safe to say that it still won’t be classified as ‘fun to drive’.

The outgoing Lexus ES isn't bad in terms of driving. I can only imagine the new ES further improves its driving experience.

If the ES drives like a 2008 TL while still retains its luxury personality, I think they have a winner. Wait, the Lexus ES has always been their winner

It does have a powerful V6 and Toyota's version of adaptable suspension.

If the 2018 Camry and 2018 Avalan are any indication the 2019 ES should be vastly improved.

When I spec'ed out a 2018 ES it came out be a $50,000 car loaded and at $50,000 I would take a look at the Stinger GT2 or Genesis G70 with their twin turbo V6s

In the interviews, they said they worked on making it more centered, lower stance and wider for more performance driving. I have no idea if it is better or still like an old fogey car just putting it out there. On the plus side IMHO it is a nice looking car but the lack of android auto makes it a no go for me until that issue is resolved. The F sport has a nice all leather steering wheel - no idea if you can get that in the non sport model (I hate the wooden steering wheel - fine in a chris craft boat - wouldn't want it in a car).

Wooden steering wheels are classics in cars as well as Chris Crafts.

A crank on the front of a car is on some classic cars too but I don't want them for my daily commute.

What if your battery dies?

When I was younger, I parked at the top of hills so I could pop start my old car. Now I keep one of those tiny battery chargers in my trunk. I've only used it once but I highly recommend them - takes up less space then a long pair of charging cables and you don't have to wait for a friend or neighbor to assist.
